this looks like a good movie; i'll have to check it out some time! from the title i thought it would be a different kind of movie but the topic is of course very up-to date. right now there's even gonna be a party of pedophiles taking part in the elections here in the netherlands; imagine that! of course drugs are more or less allowed already here, but this is going too far!

I saw it and really liked the movie, even if at the beginning I was a bit disturbed...

It was freaking disturbing!!!

My boyfriend won't ever watch it again....lol. He won't even let me handle scissors...lol

An awesome movie. Great twist to it all. Everyone should give it a looksee.

I bought this film on dvd last week and its brilliant.
I really enjoy these character / dialogue driven films which is just as well as there are only really two characters in the film,plus the nosy neighbour making a cameo appearence.
Ellen Page is certainly a star of the future.

My partner having borrowed my dvd has now watched the film and emailed me her verdict including questions like ......... (edited as original post contained a couple of spoilers) ........I'm convinced she must have dozed off during parts of the film,you know.

They were certainly very unsympathetic characters.

I saw this film at the cinema last year and I actually had to walk out at the (apparent) castration scene, which is really odd for me as I've certainly handled disturbing cinema in the past. I found the film really reached a very suffocating peak at this point and I thought I was going to pass out. I had to sit in the foyer and drink a bottle of water before going back in.

The film really brought up an interesting confrontation scenario but I really did not find myself sympathetic to either character. I think they were both as dangerous as each other on opposite ends of the scale, but both using a sense of trust and innocence to lure each other in.

I must say though it is certainly a film I won't feel the need to watch again, but it was good to see the once.

Last weekend I saw this movie for the second time. I really found it disturbing how a cute young girl could contain so much anger in her. And I really think that Ellen Page is a really good actress (very lovely and sweet in Juno also).

I must make myself watch this at some point.

..and also Beth, I think you might like the upbeat hypnotic song ( 'Elephant Woman' by Blonde Redhead ) which closes the film.

Boring! Just boring! Was going to write something here about it, and then started watching it again, but stopped again, cause it is just boring, uninteresting, senseless. FART! It just rings false from the beginning, to me that is. Bin!
