Desire Avenue

Now we know that a new album of Stina is on it's way in 2007, I think it is time to stir things up a bit. I'm really surprised that this forum still has no more than 150 members!

I really think that even besides the Stina Nordenstam news this forum has a lot to offer. But I don't have to tell you that. My question is how we can persuade others to join our discussions and stir things up a bit? How can we make this forum more popular?

I noticed that this forum is not to be found on any of the search engines. Perhaps we should improve that? Has anyone ideas on this?

I'm not sure my current server can handle hundreds of members at first so for now I'm ok with the current numer of registered people. And you know, 150 seems low to you but not for me, I'm glad to see so many people here
And also the board becomes more and more active, We have new posts everyday and I try to had new features sometimes to make this board more attractive.

On Google, this board is only at page 3 so the google rank is quite poor...
I guess we don't have enough external links linked to our forum.
Also, desireavenue.net is less obvious than a stinanordenstam.xxx link.

Hmmm, that's something quite serious to consider before trying to get more people to join this forum. On the other hand: SeekYouDanger had more members but all the postings were done by a hand full of them. So a few more members wouldn't give any trouble.

That's true. But I was comparing this board to the old board over at CQD. We had more members there. This board once started with Stina Nordenstam as the main subject that bonds us all. Of course a lot of other things have been discussed here.

Still this is the one and only relatively succesfull board about Stina. And I guess this is the place to hear some news (along with her official webpage over at stinanordenstam.com). And I guess that we should try to get this place more into the picture. Just because this is the main newsfeed on Stina.

I guess that in being userfriendly this board is far better than the old board. I really like the clean look of it and find the new mainpage a real improvement.

Yes I agree. But still we could change that a bit. Perhaps changing the subtitle of the board and including Stina's name in it? Maybe we should promote the board more so that we get more external links? Perhaps we could try to get Googlebot to spider this board with all of it's topics?

All in all I think this board deserves to get more noticed.

Promoting the board, why not... but where ? Maybe we could contact V2 and add a link to wikipedia at first.

About the server I'd like to add that it can handle many more members but I'm not sure how many active members could slow it down. And in fact I'm a moderator on another board with more than 2000 people and in fact there's only around 10-20 people that post on a regular basis. So I'm quite happy we have a good ratio of posting members.

I changed meta tags, the redirection page and the portal to have better peformance while the search engines seek for changes.

Over at 'My Space' Stina has 1884 'friends'.....and she's also left a message.
It would be nice to have some of those friends registering and posting here!

An 'official' nod of approval for this forum and main site would be most welcome and would certainly add credibility!

Stina posting here is a possibility. She has access to this board but I doubt that she has ever used it.

I made an account for her at the very beginning of te board. The useraccount has been emailed to V., Ian Grenfell and Helen of V2 Music. I'm pretty sure that they have informed Stina.

According to http://www.yahoosearchrankings.com/ this forum has no place within the first 1000 results on the keyword Stina Nordenstam.

So there's some work to do here.

And according to googlerankings.com there's also no place within the first thousand results on keywords stina nordenstam.

'stina' was shown as being on-line one evening a week or so ago so thats encouraging.

Hmmm, Rob that might have been me. I was getting an email at my account that Stina received a PM. I have my email registered as her private email as otherwise people would be able to email her directly. So I decided to log in and change the email adress to a fake one.

I can't remember what day it was now Paul (although it was noted at the time on one of these topics) but if it was about 7.15pm so if thats the time you remember sorting out the email address then i guess it was you after all.

Oh well,excitement over for another year i guess?
