Desire Avenue

The more I think about this track and it's context within the Dynamite Books, and it's lyrics in the Dynamite CD reissue, the more I think that this song was intended for the album and kicked off in the mastering (a la Tori Amos).

I've always felt that it deserved better than being Dynamite's b-side, and for some reason I think Stina does too....

You might be right there,Daniel,as regards her feelings for it-go and look at her MySpace page,and see what she said about 'Greetings'.
Yep,the style is totally in tune with the rest of the album.Pity space couldn't be found for it.

So whereabouts would you put it if you were to add it to the Dynamite album?

I havn't played 'Greetings.......' for a while now but from memory, I seem to recall thinking that the song was a continuation of the performance that created 'Dynamite' and that Stina hived off the end of the recording to create the bedding for a seperate track.
ie....the way John Lennon created Revolution 9 from the extended ending of Revolution.

I'll have to play both 'Dynamite' and 'Greetings' again though to see if I still hold the same opinion.

Sorry,RobB,but no.The tempo,rhythm and phrasing of the guitar riffs is quite similar but 'Greetings' is in the key of Bb major and 'Dynamite' in B minor, which means they can't possibly be from the same performance.

Oh,i'm sure Stina knows how to change keys mid performance Dave.
