Violet Indiana

Post by d.a.walker »

I just got their second album Russian Doll from 2004, and it's fantastic rougher post-Cocteaus in sound. I particularly like Innocent and The Visit. Worth checking out, the singer used to sing with late 90's marvel Mono whose one and only album is still one of my favourites....
I dreamed of 747's, over geometric farms...

I've got the album too but I reallt prefer the Mono one.
I believe in your smile everyday
But I know that you're far from my way
When I talk to the moon I can hear you
In the dark I can see, I can feel your light

The Mono album is just such an era album for me. I reckon I played that album nearly every single day for over a year when I first got it!!!! I paid 50p for it because the shop I bought it from thought it was a single because of it's packaging (small card slip case with a booklet and inner sleeve for the CD). Life In Mono is just stunning but I love Disney Town and Slimcea Girl as much!!

I have an EP of Violet Indiana's with the song Killer Eyes on it which is also rather superb, though I don't have the album it came off, Roulette. It had a great video though which i think is on Youtube now...

Is it better than Cocteau Twins' videos?

wouldn't take much... or anything really... maybe a budget higher than $5.
