Have you heard Massive Attack's Home Of The Whale with Caroline on vocals? It's rather special I think.... 8)

I knew about it but i'll have to get it sometime. She sure gets around

I'm really excited to hear her new album. It should be coming out within the next year according to her website. I'm glad she's kind of returning to her electronic side. The purely traditional folk on A Distant Bell wasn't doing much for me, not that i listened to it very long..

I was very disappointed with A Distant Bell....especially after the excellent Brilliant Midnight set.
The only songs I half remember are 'Gently Johnny' and the 'David Bedford' track!!

.......and nor is he one of the twin guys in the 118 ads.

No, its the composer David Bedford. For the track 'Greenwood Laddie', Caroline has used David's music, sourced from his 1998 album 'Twelve Hours of Sunset'. :)

Caroline Lavelle, like Stina, contributed on the Vangelis Voices album

I have just discovered that Caroline Lavelle played on Brianna Corrigan's album When My Arms Wrap You Round, is there anything she hasn't worked on?

Probably not as Caroline was a session musician from 1982 for many years.......I know she played on an album or two by Siouxsie and the Banshees in the early - mid eighties period. :)

yup, her track Come To Me () is just as beautiful as Ask The Mountains.

It definitely got the long end of the production stick. Ask The Mountains is badly produced, in my opinion. ( we've discussed the bad bassline and annoying snare parts somewhere before  )

After all,Mr Papathanissiou is a keys player, and all the sounds are kbd driven, hence the substandard drums.I can live with the bassline. It's hard to do it very differently in 6/8 time.Nothing is quite as awful as the trumpet samples on 'Slow piece' which sound like an 80s synth.
I think he's just a total control kind of guy who wants his own orchestra on the cheap.
I'd love to know what Stina thought about working with him. :|
