surely some of you are also PJ Harvey fans

I have To Bring You My Love and Is This Desire? and she's definitely one of my favorite artists. Right up there with Stina, Björk and Tori.

I just got Is This Desire? recently, and i noticed that some of the slower tracks closely resembled a certain Balloon Mood album by Anja Garbarek. The Wind in particular sounds very much like The Telescope Man Says.

I'm a huge fan of her album "Song from the cities..." (and not because it's featuring T. Yorke)

For me definitive PJ is To Bring You My Love, stunning and raw, yet strangley theatrical. I remember her Glasto performance in that catsuit vividly to this day!!

OH, new album this coming autumn most likely.

It's an uneasy experience, but it's a very rewarding album over time. Teclo and The Dancer are both spooky and compelling doomed songs.

I have heard from a reliable source that her new album is almost entirely piano based!

Yep, piano-based album, we heard about that a while back in the Tori forums. Those two seem to be straying into one another's territory at the moment, what with Tori dressing up as PJ for half her shows.

I must plainly state that i think "Rid of Me" is the best of all. The title song alone, so creepily stalkish that it gives me the creeps. Not to mention "Highway '61", "50 ft. Queenie" and "Me-Jane" rock.

And what about "Uh Huh Her?" "Shame" and "Pocketknife" are a couple more master pieces.

Forgive me. I've been on a PJ Harvey binge for a few weeks now and am temporarily obsessed. In a while I'm calm down and just be steadily obsessed as I am with Stina and a few others.

"To Bring You My Love" took me a while to love, but didn't lead me to search or yearn for more PJ. Niether did "Stories From the City.." It was definitely "Rid of Me" and "Uh Huh Her" that will force me to search for every single and rarity I can find.

And I cannot wait to see her live one day.

I loved To Bring You My Love for it's doomed songs about doomed love. Rid Of Me isn't really a true solo album for PJ imo, for me the start is To Bring You My Love. I found Uh Huh Her to be a bit of a backwards step for PJ as it seemed too Is This Desire? and half finished. I love Stories From for it's sheer New York-ness!

i'll buy another PJ album next year, or when her new one comes out. i've already got Is This Desire? for 2007

To Bring You My Love and Is This Desire? are about equal for me. TBYML is so minimal and bluesy and every note she sings sounds like it's coming from the bottom of her lungs and SOUL, but ITD? is just brilliant.

Is This Desire took absolutely ages to reach me ... then it just clicked and I couldn't understand why I didn't realise the genius of it before.

I love TBYML, that was my first Peej album - I'd known about her for a while but it was seeing her extraordinary live performance of tracks from TBYML on 'Later ...' that made me go and get the album.

Nowadays I think Stories ... is my favourite, I love that album so much and play it a lot. I don't really understand why the Peej hardcore fans dislike it so much. So what if it's more accessible/commercial than the other albums? It's still brilliant!

I only have TBYML and Stories. But both albums I love. Never got around to buy the others.... but the idea of a full PJ Piano album certainly raises my interest.
