Desire Avenue

Given that good old Birmingham has been experiencing unseasonably sunny and warm weather for the last 3 weeks, I think it is time to start a thread about our holiday plans.

I am now getting excited because my big holiday for the year is now only 2 weeks away. I am spending 3 weeks in Alaska [love] , which will include lots of wilderness walking, & wildlife viewing and also a 7 day cruise down from Seward to Vancouver. I cant wait, I love Alaska.

I also have a 1 week holiday booked in the Scottish highlands too.

I have nothing special planned for the summer holidays.. Just to visit some friends.

The unusual weather has been definitely present in the Netherlands. April has been the warmest month ever recorded (like 3 degrees above the previous high). And also was the dryest ever, had the earliest summer day (above 25C) and the most summer days in april. I guess we've been very lucky! This week it's still nice with temps above 20 and sun; we might finally get the first rain in two months next week....

I'll be going to Norway for sure in summer, like every year! I'm guessing Alaska is equally impressive and I love all these northern destinations! I'd like to also go to Greenland sometime. So maybe we can all send you a postcard then Alex?
