Hello, Stina fans.

My name is Matt Butterfly, I'm a new member at desireavenue.net, I just signed up after weeks of reading your messages out of curiosity and being shy. I'm a big fan of Stina Nordenstam and her long six album career. When I first heard her music in February 2007, I was very impressed by her unique voice, her styles of music, her variety, her album artwork and the emotion I felt when hearing her. Her music makes such an indescribable impact on me.

So I was very surprised to find out that she is still very unknown and that there is a very small amount of websites, information and forums about her. Which know is somewhat down to her not performing live and doing interviews. Which is a shame but in the positive sense it makes her original, personal and cult and allows me to imagine her set list myself and how she will perform it. Dynamite acoustic version?

I discovered her from MySpace Music where she is linked as a friend to Emilie Simon, another of my favourite artists. I usually discover music via the internet rather than through radio. This is where I discovered my other favourite artists; Hanne Hukkleberg, Johanna Kunin, Rachael Yamagata, Ane Brun, Anna Ternheim and Imogen Heap. I'm also a fan of Bjork.

When I told my family about Stina, their response was "who?" and "how did you pronounce that name?" I'm still the only person I know who listens to her. I own all six of her full length albums which I brought in reverse order. Currently my favourite of hers is "The World Is Saved" but it changes all the time which shows how her albums are equally tight in brilliance.

I hope I can be good addition to the small Stina fan squad by showing my active enthusiasm and respect for the mysterious genius that is Stina Nordenstam.

Welcome Matt, I guess this is the right place to be then. We'll discuss Stina and her music her on this forum. Although it has been a bit silent in the last few months. We're hoping for a new album somewhere in 2008 but even that is uncertain.

That is in fact the charm of Stina. You'll never know what is next.

I've been waiting for her new album but obviously not as long as you guys who have followed her career much longer.

Hm, so what should I say.. Well, I'm a 14 year old girl. I come from Norway and is relatively new to the mysterious world of Stina Nordenstam.

It'll be enough to make Stina choke on her cornflakes to discover she has fans who weren't even born when she made 'Memories Of A Color'.....and possible 'And She Closed Her Eyes' even?
Then again,perhaps its kind of reassuring as well that her music is appealing to the next generation down?

Yeah, I do think about that sometimes, it's weird to know that Memories of a Color was made before I was born I was around two years old when And She Closed Her Eyes came out, but I didn't hear about Stina berfore 2004 or something. People at my age should listen to music like Stina more, and less of that hip hop and extreme mainstream pop

I think people with discriminating taste will always find good music, no matter what age they are.
