We should register that name http://www.barbieboard.com and start our own little community over there. That way the link with stina would be not totally gone but less evident.

I never was a big fan of the website design though; i didn't link that to Stina as well; i'm more for the darker look of the TWIS website; is that still available?

I think it was something Beth made up,and I've always thought it hit the spot because of all the pink and floribunda and fol-de-rol of that site.
I might be wrong but it seems to me Independiente latched on to the song 'Circus' (since the whole site was based around 'This Is') and used circus-sy imagery,a lot of which,I'd agree,Harrie,was way offtarget for the sense of Stina's music.(In fact,I remember the first time I came upon the Barbieboard I was convinced it must be a site for some OTHER Stina Nordenstam,nothing to do with the music that I loved ).
Hidden away in it were some intriguing stories by Stina (anyone ever copy them?) and some weird assertions such as Stina having taken every drug known to mankind.
As for the TWIS design ( I take it you mean the last couple of months of the CQD front page before it shut up shop),it ain't archived on the Wayback machine,alas.
Neither is the series of images Vero used to make the 'Jean-Claude' special,which was a favourite of mine...

Thats how I remember it too.....that Beth came up with the 'barbie board' name.

Its funny that Stina should sell around 50,000 copies of each of her albums worldwide and yet its the same dozen or so of those purchasers who are prepared to post on-line.
I won't attempt to work that out as a percentage but its pretty small.

I love that Harrie thought 'barbieboard' was the official name of the site.

I dubbed it that because of the vibrant pink of the forum, and the childs-toys vibe of the design. It must have seemed appropriate I guess because everyone took it up and the name has stuck ever since.

Most importantly, the boards would have to be that lovely pink again. Such a friendly, upbeat colour. You can't help but laugh when you're on a pink board.

I'm seriously willing to claim barbieboard.com and create a pink forum over there. I've been browsing on the waybackmachine too and have downloaded the files of the old barbieboard. This means that I'm able to recreate the old board's color scheme.

The thing is that we've discussed this before and have talked about how we are going to proceed with the board. If we'd create a forum over at barbieboard than it would mean that it has no (direct) link with stina anymore. The question is, will enough members jump over to the new board, will we be able to gain new members to make a lively board out of it. I would like to hear the opinions of everyone here before registering that name. And of course, I want to consider how Alex feels about this since he has been very busy with keeping the desireavenue.net forum alive.

So let me know what you think of this!
