I just had a message from Helen at V2 to say the release is postponed till then .

So,maybe May then.

Really, because in the last emailcontact I had with Helen (last week) she told me it would be released in the fall of 2007

Thanks for the update Dave.

Helen emailed me on 3rd April to say the album was scheduled for fall 2007 which is the same info that Paul has received more recently.

It seems that the delay has been decided upon over the past few days.

I wonder if the problem is with Stina thinking that the album requires more work or with V2 not being able to slot the album into their autumn schedule?

This is why I'd prefer if she just put it up for download. Best quality mp3s are not that inferior to cd quality in sound, and it's easy enough to burn them to disc for those who don't want to have to listen on a computer/mp3 player. Waiting god knows how many more months for a record company release, when you know the tracks have probably been completed for some time, seems so pointless these days.

Somebody wake me up in January.

V2 or Stina needs to do something about the "coming now" photo on the homepage. It's only confusing people.

These delays are frustrating but we're also being a little impatient too i guess.

Shy of 4 days, there was exactly a three year gap between 'People Are Strange' and 'This Is' and then nearly ( about a month under) another three year gap between 'This Is' and 'The World Is Saved'.
As the 'three year gap' between 'TWIS' and the new album won't be reached until this coming October, the new album won't be that overdue should it com eout in the New Year.

In the past having waited a lot longer for albums by Pink Floyd,Kate Bush and Paul McCartney to arrive, three years doesn't seem that long really.

I'd much sooner wait and for Stina to release a quality album that she's happy with than for her to turn into someone like Tori Amos who churns out albums like their going out of fashion...........which they probably are in many respects?

I think they could 'drip feed' us some info on the new album now,even if it is still over six months away.

I think there's roughly a two year gap between most of T's albums, with the exception of TVAB which arrived a year or so after FTCH. She's had a yearly release of some sort since Scarlet in 2002, but that's with compilations as well as new work. I think T's rate of work is fine, it's more the amount of songs she writes for each new project - I wish she'd concentrate on making a really great twelve-track album, and if there's stuff left over, put it out on a separate ep.

With this new Stina album it's more the frustration of knowing that it's probably been done for ages. She'd already started on it by the time TWIS was released, if I remember rightly?

I sometimes think Stina might be a front for some experimental organisation who are trying to see if a career can be built with minimal or no publicity whatesoever; just some vague red herrings thrown to us goggling seals.
