Let's admire the olympic logo :

And it's already known as the blowjob logo
I believe in your smile everyday
But I know that you're far from my way
When I talk to the moon I can hear you
In the dark I can see, I can feel your light

Ugh. Terrible. And pink?!!
The worst thing is you know they've probably payed some hyped up graphic design company thousands to come up with that.

Typical. We win the chance to host the greatest sporting event ever, the eyes of the whole world are on us, and we signify it with two pink people engaging in oral sex.

Actually, it could be the British sense of humour. :D

Ice, you were the one most tender with the rivers.
You, the roof of the waves, layer after layer after layer ...

The new design cost = £400,000

People running round in circles.
People jumping over things.
People throwing things about.

I don't think our government knows what to waste the tax payers money on next.

Aw c'mon RobB,you wouldn't say that if it was people driving around and around and around a racetrack at stupid speeds wasting heaps of money on fuel and filling the air with crud, would you? :D

I'm really looking forward to it.I'll be first in the queue for the people whacking celluloid across a table event.

That design is atrocious. What's it supposed to be? (apart from a blobby blowjob) .
I can't help thinking that it's a presaging of worse to come-Brits falling way behind schedules in building, rubbish security, crap facilities etc.

I'm not looking forward to the temporary increase in the population of my town during the Olympics - we have an 'olympic village' just near where I work, built for competitors for the Disabled Games which were inaugurated here, I'm sure that will be used to house some of the sporting hordes from around the world. Provided none of the little chav vandals round here have managed to burn it down by then.

Already it's giving trouble:

"ANIMATED footage promoting the logo for the 2012 London Olympic Games was removed from the organisers' website overnight amid concern it could trigger epileptic fits.

The video clip shows a diver plunging into a pool as part of a campaign to promote the jagged Olympic logo, a graffiti-like blow-up of the number 2012 in a range of colours including hot pink and electric blue. "

hot pink and electric blue? it's not the gay games is it? :D
btw, my office is also taking part in developing the 'olympic village' in stratford; i think it's gonna be really nice and re-usable afterwards. :)

Lots of coverage of the epilepsy stories in the UK press today - having watched the animation now I can quite understand how it's triggering fits!

Apparently 35,000 Brits have now signed an online petition to get rid of the logo altogether.

remind me what the 00s was all about in the first place :?
I have no idea, except the great breakthrough of everything online???
The desinterest (at least from my side) in the old media?
everything can be in fashion as long as it's original?
this logo may then be indeed the culmination of all the non-creativity that is really going on... (money and 'nepotism' being what runs this world and thus some stupid design bureau with good connections getting the job).
Ah well
:D
