Her album Birds has been out here well over a year now and this song Winning Arrow is just simply one of my favourite songs ever...

Bic is wonderful, if you get the chance to see her live take it, you will not regret it..

I havn't got 'Birds' yet but have a first couple of albums and the live one.
She's a very good singer/songwriter although a music tends to be a bit too MOR-ish to sustain long term interest.

I caught her live about three yaers ago and thought she was a little disappointing.Performance wise she was fine but she had little in the way of a stage personality,zero interaction with the audience from what I remember and was such a misery that she dodn't bother to come out and say 'Hi' to the half dozen fans who waited behind after the gig.
A guy did collect our cd booklets / programmes etc which he took away to get signed for us though .........my signed programme having disappeared somewhere into thin air since.

Not my experience at all Robb I found her to be great, she stayed behind and signed stuff, had her pics taken with various people, and talked amusingly between songs. Perhaps she has become more amenable in her old age

Maybe she was just having an off day or wasn't happy with her performance or something when I saw her?

Bic's last tour was not a good time for her, her father died from a heart attack just before she was to embark on it, it also co-incided with the suicide of the drummer from Crowded House, Neil Finn being a close associate and friend.

She did an interview for an Australian newspaper around the release of Birds and it she admitts in it that she was numb during most of that tour, acting like nothing had happened.

Her album Birds is very different in many ways to Beautiful Collison and Drive. It's very downbeat, there are no tracks on it like Sway or Get Some Sleep, it has a very dark lounge feel to it, and the songwriting is deeply personal stuff. It's my favourite Bic album, and worth hunting down with the live bonus disc too!

I'll certainly get around to buying 'Birds'......one day.

Incidentally, it was Sunday 20th June 2004 when I saw Bic when she played at the Colchester Arts Centre.

Those three years have soon passed.

Yes it is, since Beautiful Collision he has been a frequent member of the Bic Runga camp, he plays on every track on Birds.
