This Is Stina Nordenstam out of print?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to buy an extra copy of This Is Stina Nordenstam. But in the Netherlands it seems that this album seems to be out of print. With only second hand copies available.

Recordshops tell me that the album can't be ordered, even not from abroad. I tried some websites that still list the album as available, but eventually they contacted me also to inform me that they can't deliver the album.

How is this in other countries?
I really dislike this. In my opninion This Is is the finest album of miss Nordenstam to date. Luckily my album is still good because I made copies of the original for the car and at home, but still.... it saddens me to see the album go out of print.

Totally agree with you there.

Just been checking out the official Independiente website and even their store is only stocking the 'exclusively packaged' promo copy.....at full price natch.

Maybe now is the time for Stina to put in an offer to buy the album off Independiente if the company isn't intending to do anything more with it?

I bought my current copy from Caiman USA via the Amazon.co.uk marketplace, but I see they are no longer on the list. It must be out of print, because the marketplace sellers now are STARTING the price at £20!

This is very bad for people just discovering Stina and wanting to collect all the albums .... unless they can find a cheaper used copy on ebay.

Maybe we should all chip in and put in an offer to Inpendiente to buy it off them?

Then again,maybe Independiente have removed the original album from their catalogue because they are intending to bring out a remastered package complete with bonus cd of 'alternative versions' and 'unreleased tracks' plus a dvd of the videos?

Ooooh...hang on, I just dozed off there but what a lovely dream.

Funny isn't it.3 or 4 years back 'This Is' was the one Stina CD you could reckon on finding in yer average HMV or wherever.How times change.I suppose it's what comes of determinedly and repeatedly shooting yourself in the foot publicity-wise.

I totally agree that this album could have been selling better if only Stina had chosen to do a bit more of promotion.

I'm still hoping that Telegram Records and Independiente will sell the rights to the recordings back to Stina (and that she has the money to buy them). Although I'm not sure wether Stina does care wether her older albums are still available. Because she's not too fond of looking back.

I've emailed Independiente today regarding the situation with the 'This Is'......I'll post up there answer when received.......hopefully next week sometime.

One week on and they havn't bothered to reply to my enquiry email.......so much for Independiente's customer services department.

Years ago I e-mailed then about the This is DVD.

They started selling it in their shop.

Then I asked about the Sharon & Hope single.

Never got back to me.

hi pgss. Glad you're back!

I checked various online shop for This Is, and yes - it is no longer available from places like CDON.com, Play.com or Amazon.

And at Ebay the price has gone way up.

However, I found it available at a fair price somewhere, I'll PM you in case the seller only have 1 item left.

btw. I just learned that most of Suzanne Vega's early back catalogue is deleted in US AND UK.
