no replies here for some time. Well that track i was looking for was of course from Mama Cass (of the mama's and papa's).
Well Season 2 has ended and allthough it was slow in the first episodes it had some great moments again and an awesome finale. I'm not gonna give too much away of course (especially for those poor UK viewers) but there's gonna be some nice revelations about a certain hatch and of course there was lots to do with these 'Others'. wow, i really love this show and can't wait for season 3 to start after summer....
the main theme for season 2 apparently was 'science or faith' and the finale was certainly about this struggle that people sometimes have; it's great that they're putting so much in this show!

maybe because of the excellent acting, the storylines of all the different characters, the mystery; i really enjoy the show and it's the only show i've liked since the x-files; besides that I only watch good movies or interesting documentariespicsou wrote:RobB wrote:It won an emmy?

I think it's also about how much you embrace popular culture. Because Lost is definitely Popular Culture. And as far as Popular Culture goes, the program is pretty groundbreaking.
I was a late convert to it. I saw a few glimpses of the first season, and thought that it was one of those shows with a formula, where one person gets killed each week. Like a soap opera in a disaster scenario. (which it is, actually) When I made a point of trying to watch it, I got caught up in the constant suspense, the multiple popular and cult references, and also the amazing amount of internal cross-references, where each character's stories intertwine in subtle ways.
And the writers are not afraid to put big plot twists and shockers in. It's entertaining stuff... One criticsm, which dampens it a bit for me, is that I'm not confident that the writers themselves know where the plot is going. So rather than an overarching theme or plot progression, it could end up falling flat on it's face.
That said, they've not let me down yet... I've watched the whole of season 1 and 2 now, and the s2 finale puts all the plot mysteries so far into perspective, and layers a few new big plot mysteries on top of them...

Wow, I've seen the season 3 finale and it was mindblowing; I don't want to give anything away (spoilers) but the writers/producers sure know how to turn things around. I wonder if anybody else has seen it or is following the series still? I think it's the best tv series ever to create such a rich story with so many angles and twists.

Well, apparently some clever people were able to take a closer look at the paper clipping and some other articles on the newspaper and it turned out to be a LA Times issue of somewhere in 2007. And the name in the clipping was a L.... ...anthwell. But probably this could be an alias
I was thinking it was Michael as well (not the russian guy of course, but the black guy). no one would want to visit his funeral and also in the clipping it said he left a teenage boy behind..

There are three seasons so far, unfortunately it takes a long while for the new season to start. Season 4 will start beginning of 2008 and only be 16 episoded or so. After that there will be two more seasons.
