Five years on I've finally got to watch the Steven Spielberg / Tom Hanks comedy 'The Terminal'.
Inspired by a true story, Hanks plays a guy stranded at an airport after having his visa/passport confiscated, leaving him unable to enter the country or return home. So for nearly a year he sets up home in the airports terminal of the title.
There are shades of The Truman Show here (no surprise since writer Andrew Niccol is involved with both films) with Hanks having his life controlled and subjected to constant surveillance is much the same way as Jim Carrey was.
Fitfully funny,i found the film enjoyable although its hardly a classic.
