Hi everyone on DesireAvenue. Im finally here! Name: Adam, a young male from Sweden.

My new goal in life is to make the uninformed Swedish population aware of a particular artists existence [!] and genius [yes, it's sad almost no one in her own country even heard of her]. Now days I’m starting to become a loving fan of Stina Nordenstams beautiful voice and characteristic mystique, her unique style of making music with both good lyrics and striking arrangements.
As I've started to understand this is the only descent forum for Stina Nordenstam fans? I Hope I’m right there. There seems to be not as much of Stina right now on other websites,

But a friend told me she's working on a new album for 2009 [?!]. In waiting of the new album, I’m very curious about some rare tracks that I haven't heard yet, are they B-sides?

Who is your friend who says Stina is making a 2009 album? we'd all like to know about that,if it's more than a bit of hearsay.
Yes,this is the only Stina forum and has been for a long time,so do stick around and post!
The tracks you mention-
Yes,they are all definitely worth hearing and mostly very good. Anything Stina is involved in tends to be high quality.Particularly good IMHO,(and in most peoples' opinions) are 'Common Miracle' and 'Failing to Fly',while 'Birds sing for their lives' and 'Into the wasteland' are good and are two of the most recent things Stina has been involved in.
More detail-
'Failing to fly' was an outtake for The World Is Saved (hereafter TWIS),you can find it on Japanese/later US copies of the album. It's excellent and very moving.'End of a love affair' was another track on TWIS,the Faultine remix is an improvement IMHO,getting closer to the poetry of the words in the music.
'Common Miracle' was a demo for a film s/t which someone else was going to sing.It didn't get used,or sung by the other person.You will probably have to ask very nicely around here to get a copy,it's not on any release,official or otherwise. It's one of the most beautiful,fragile and affecting songs Stina ever made (which is saying something).
Fleshquartet's album 'Flow' was released in the early 90s, Stina sings backing vocals on those four tracks. They all have good moments,but Fleshqt. might be an acquired taste for some.NB Stina has also collaborated later with Fleshquartet's lead singer,Freddie Wadling,singing one duet with him on one of his albums and very recently writing two lyrics for his latest album.
Around the same time as Fleshqt.,Stina collaborated with the duet Dive on their album 'Stills',singing BV on the three tracks you cite.Incidentally one half of Dive went on to produce And She Closed Her Eyes ('ASCHE' passim hereabouts).I really like those three songs,but they're not everyone's cup of schnapps.
'Nine Horses' is a band/album from 3 or 4 years back fronted by David Sylvian (of Japan fame).Stina co-wrote and sings on 'Birds' which is available as a B-side only,as well as 'Wonderful World',which is an album track from 'Nine Horses'.Filur is another duet,their album/single came out at about the same time.'Into the wasteland' is available in two or three remixes as well.

No, it’s probably the same rumour going around here; it's a friend of mine who works in a record store talking about how Stina is to sooner or later release a new album in 2009.

'Common miracle' is certainly one of the rarities.
As regards sharing,I think we're usually pretty open about it.As a pro musician myself,I have fairly high standards as regards musicians getting what they are due wherever possible. Most of the stuff listed above can be legally purchased with the exception of the never-issued things. Personally I don't have the time or inclination to go through my collection and upload them,but others will. Also if you hunt through old threads here under 'Stina Nordenstam' you'll probably find links to uploaded files of rarities.Certainly I was able to buy Dive-Stills and the Fleshquartet album new on the net not very long back -from Sweden.
Stina stopped playing live after one seemingly traumatic gig in London inc.1994,although she hadn't played live a great deal. The Flippermen recordings are from 1990-1,just before Memories of a Colour (MOAC),basically two gigs. They're in similar style to MOAC,using a team of seasoned jazz pros,who stretch out here and there. I think they're great,(but then I'm a jazzer). They certainly demonstrate that Stina can hold her own as a live performer. One of the gigs,Fasching,was available as a download for years from a couple of sites,not sure if it is anywhere now.
Jean-Claude was made in c.2002,a documentary about a homeless guy in Paris,screened on Swedish TV. The music Stina wrote for it ,some of her very best,is largely represented on TWIS,but there are two or three other tracks out there.
Aberdeen-the four songs are basically the same song slightly altered-For You is the fullest of them.Save your money,(unless you become a manic Stina completist like a few of us here)

you know, that's the weird thing when you become obsessed with an artist; even though you probably know that the rarities isn't as good as the "official stuff", you still want it all. It was the same with Morrissey, so I'm most likely to get obsessed with Stina as well.

I always assumed the "trauma" happened during ASCHE?

Maybe that is why we ended up with Dynamite?

Its a great shame that Stina doesn't do live shows now,especially as she has so much material to choose from.
