You should try here in the peak of summer when it's 3am and still 30 degrees outside. I despise it! Give me a good old fashioned blizzard or thunderstorm any day!
I'm so stressed and busy at the moment it sickens me. Plus I f*cking hate session work. ARGH.
Other than that I'm almost fine. (apart from being on sleeping meds again for insomnia)

That sounds horrific.......I sleep poorly when the temperature gets into double figures.
30 degrees sounds like a nightmare..........if you could get to sleep to have one of course.

Well,it did briefly stop raining so we lept out of the mini-bus for a quick photo session. But yeah,i'd rather it be mild and cloudy than hot and sunny. But being wet i'm not too keen on.

Only snooker bores me more than tennis. Oh,and golf. And football, rugby, darts etc etc etc.......Rob (not a sporty person)
But don't you like motor racing? (I can't think of anything more boring, let alone its impact on the environment).
My family will be screaming for Murray.

F1 is about the only sport I do follow (although yesterdays race at Silverstone was a bit of a bore).....I use to like test cricket too, until they stopped showing it live on the main terrestrial channels (and I can't be bothered with 'highlights')

Motorsport puts me to sleep, I have to say. And yet I love other 'boring' sports like snooker and tennis. I've even been known to watch cricket now and again.
I don't think Andy Murray will actually win Wimbledon, but with Nadal withdrawing from the tournament he has a better chance ... he's beaten Federer the last four times they've played, which bodes well. Though I must say Federer was looking awesome this afternoon. We'll see how Murray copes with the pressure of expectation. I think he'll handle it better than Tim Henman did - he's a fairly bolshy character for a start, more aggressive by nature, as befits a Scot.
I'm gutted I missed him winning at Queen's, I had to work. I've booked Wimbledon finals weekend off though, just in case.

Do you remember those blisteringly hot summers we got for a few years running in the 90s? One year I recall it barely dropped below 25 degrees during the August nights here, I ended up a virtual zombie from lack of sleep. It was tormenting.

Ah,Wimbledon. Watched Sharapova vs some other -ova today, and it was unintentionally hilarious, not for the Tennis but for the orgasmic screams contest.
Samples from other tournaments-
Oh god, don't get me started on the screamers. I literally cannot watch some of the women's matches because of the noise - it's absolutely uncouth and unbearable, IMO. The thing that most annoys me about it is that's it's also absolutely unnecessary. Plenty of great players manage without screeching like constipated wildebeest every time they hit the ball. Female players have been TAUGHT to do this - by male coaches - to make them 'more aggressive' and to distract and intimidate their opponents. It's disgracefully unsportsmanlike behaviour, and personally I'd like to see them deducted penalty points every time they do it. That way the matches would be over in about ten minutes and we wouldn't have to listen to it.
Funny thing, but I don't recall the greatest woman player in the history of the sport ever needing to scream her lungs out with each point in order to win. Navratilova seemed to rely on little things like superb athleticism, technique and strength of character.

Well nice to see Andy Murray safely through the first round, though in true British style he made it a lot more difficult than it had to be.
Most interesting thing about Wimbledon so far: the veritable crop of extraordinarily good-looking Frenchmen competing this year. My word. It quite takes me back to the glory days of Henri Leconte. *sigh*
ALLEZ HENRI!

Maybe that's the price you pay for devoting such incredible time, energy and mental application to your chosen sport. Mind you, the above-mentioned Leconte was a real character - extremely bright, very cultured and adorably funny. As well as gorgeous to look at. Clearly he did something very right in all his previous lives.

being a lovely sunny day,I spent this afternoon tidying up the rockery in the garden. At one point i got buzzed a couple of times by a dragonfly which eventually settled for several minutes on the red hot pokers, the red hot parts having long been stripped by the sparrows.
Luckily i had time to fetch my camera to take the photo below before it flew off.
