Among The Oak And Ash

This duo comprising of 2 solo artists, Josh Joplin and Garrison Starr (one of my major favs), form this group, with a little help from Erin McKeown. Their debut album is comprised entirely of American folk songs, and it's nearly toppled St Vincent from the top of my favourite albums of the year.







Garrison Starr is worth checking out solo too, I have 4 of her 5 albums, and absolutely love her. She's gone from deal to deal over the last 12 years but always managed to get her music out there. With Among The Oak And Ash she's back on a big lable, Verve Forecast.

They are hitting Europe in February for a major tour, hopefully you should see them then!
