Intro to Stina Nordenstam track used on BBC

After the boring Uruguay-France World Cup coverage on the BBC, I needed something to wake me up and then comes a piece about USA's last win against England and what did they use as background music? The beginning of "Murder In Maryland Park", the percussion part before Stina sings. Ofcourse as a Stina fan, I noticed that this was part of a Stina song and was wishing that they'd extend the sample to the part where we hear Stina's voice was hard but instead they looped the instrumental part. So close to getting Stina's voice on the BBC and then maybe viewers would have questioned: "who's that angelic voice I hear, I need to find out about her".

Still at least 7 seconds of Stina's music is being kept alive. Looks like a member of the music team at the BBC likes Stina's music, if not I'm curious to how he came across and decided to use it.

Ah well, there's been a guy on the BBC sports team who has occasionally thrown in Stina edits over the years into unlikely spots like Football Focus. RobB might remember his name, he used to post on the old forum.

If I remember it correctly we do have a member here who works at the BBC. So perhaps it is his influence.

What a great idea! Want to get Stina's music heard? Get a job at the BBC in the music area and occasionally slip in Stina's music, very subtlely on TV programmes. Mischieveous.

I want to meet this BBCMan and thank him on behalf of the Stina Nordenstam fans team.

I can't remember the chaps real name now (if i ever knew it?) but he use to work on the Football Focus Saturday lunchtime show and use to slip in bits of Stina tracks. I remember he used Proposal once to good effect.

I think you're right Dave, i believe his username was simply BBCman.

Since writing the above, i've been over to the dormant CQD message board (forever frozen in time ) and seen that it was indeed BBCMAN, the username for Stephen.
