The new Flake advert in the UK.

Anyone else seen this yet? It's quite beautiful and the music is so Stina-ish I honestly wondered whether she might have composed it! Absolutely classic Stina-style solo piano and a small string accompaniment. If it's not by her, whoever composed it is a big fan of hers I think.

Nice visuals,pretty music but i must admit i wouldn't have associated it with Stina's style,especially without any Stina-ish vocals to accompany it.

I have quite a few albums with these ambient keyboard / piano tracks.....Roger Eno has been making these type of albums on and off for 35 years as an example of one artist working in this field. I must admit to not having heard of Warren Ellis who seems to be the chap behind this particular track.

Here's an example of Roger's work from 1975 i believe.

Really, you guys don't see a resemblance to some of Stina's stuff? I was honestly waiting for her voice to come in, it immediately made me think of her. The piano reminded me particularly of Parliament Square, Soon After Christmas, Clothe Yourself For The Wind et al. Love it.

First time I saw it I was so surprised when it turned out to be for Flake. It's really beautiful, and yeah I thought she looked like some kind of exotic sea creature.

I don't really get the same vibe at all from that Eno piece Rob, that's what I think of as 'new agey' music, kind of vapid with those synths - like those 'relaxation' type CDs you get for a couple of quid in bargain bins. I don't know Eno's music at all though so I'm a philistine.

I always loved the Flake adverts, despite the above-mentioned suggestiveness. I still remember fondly the one that ran when I was a kid in the 70s, with the girl in the gypsy caravan going through the field of poppies. I wanted so much to be that girl.

I miss Flakes. I need to email Cadbury and see if they can invent a plain chocolate one with no milk in it.

It's from 1985 when I was 18, so I must have transposed the poppies in from an earlier one in the 70s when I was little.

Interesting about the composer of the new music working with Nick Cave. I'll have to see if I can find any more of his stuff because I really love what he did for the advert.

I distinctly remember announcing my age in giant numbers on the board five years ago. It was after I'd got engaged and Coral, bless her, made some comment about how wonderful it was that even old people could get married.
