Spent yesterday in London with girlfriend kate,mainly to attend the film festival currently being held at Abbey Road Studios in St.Johns Wood....studio 1 to be exact.
Although several films are being shown,the one we chose to see is that laugh a minute film Pink Floyd's The Wall.
Also,we had the opportunity to look round Studio 2 (of Beatles,Floyd,Kate Bush etc) fame which is presently housing a photographic exhibition of some of the artists who have recorded there.
Later in the day we walked down Oxford St,cutting down through Soho (popped into the Moon & sixpence for a meal-Wetherspoons are really excellent value)down to Whitehall (had a quick look at Parliament Sq but alas,no sign of Stina ),across Westminster Bridge,and then along the river to Tower Bridge which we crossed to make our way back to Liverpool street station.
A long,tiring day but great fun and the opportunity to spend time in Studio 2 is not to be missed.
Also,it was great fun to watch people stopping and posing half way across the zebra crossing,much to the annoyance of the motarists,especially when having crossed in one direction they turn round and cross back the other way again.
A long time ago, I visited the Abbey Road area (but not the studio as it was closed) and felt the magic surrounding the place. So many huge artists went there and many historical moments of music were created at this studio !

Before we went into studios,we were standing next to the Onslow Ford monument which can be seen in the background,beyond the crossing.
Its probably the safest spot to recreate the famous photo without getting run over. [tup]
Studio 2 (and indeed the whole area) is indeed very magical......the studios are supposedly built upon ley lines.
Studio 2 is very much like a school gymnasium,overlooked by a large internal window to one side of two flights of stone stairs going up the control room door.
The flooring is still the same parquet floor that The Beatles use to walk upon all those years again.
Its an amazing place.
