just watched 2046 (a very pixellated vcd, that one) directed by Wong Kar Wai
something about a journalist writing about the future 2046, except it's actually the past 1960s that he's writing. so many women swooning for him! so much cigarette smoke!

Oh dear I just sat through 2046. I bought this because I had read and heard so many wonderful things about it. It does look and sound good, but oh my is it boring, full of under developed characters you really couldn't care about. It was also way too long, a shame really as the potential for a really brilliant film seems to have been sorely wasted in an attempt of style over content. My advice, watch the trailer and save yourself the boredom!
