I'm almost 100% sure Stina will never play live again so no need to put her in my wishlist !

Hi Folks, thanks for the thoughts Angie. I'm still alive!

Actually my angiogram is on Monday morning. I have my main gig of the year on Sunday night, which is quite good because I won't be worrying about the op.
I then have to come home after the gig and shave my pubic area in readiness for a very early start the next day having my ticker checked out. (I'm sure the aftermath of gigs was much more fun when I was in my twenties )
I feel fine in myself and I'm hoping that they're going to say 'there's nothing wrong with you, go home and you can come off all the drugs'. But I somehow doubt it, they love administering the drugs...


As for bands I'd like to see; well Bjork is on tour here. I'd kinda like to see her but not necessarily in front of a huge crowd of brainless youths.
One of my piano pupils was at Glastonbury, working in a cafe, and who should walk in but Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, who was very happy to sit and chat to Gabriel for a few minutes. Gabriel hasn't come down off his cloud yet. That's what I'd like to do with Bjork, have a natter

The last week has been a bit of an up and downer for me as my Dad passed away last Thursday. He'd been unwell for sometime and i had effectively become his carer for the past couple of months.
At the moment i'm wading through various tasks like arranging the funeral, cancelling pensions, closing bank accounts, switching names on the utility accounts etc etc........it all takes a lot of time and a lot of form filling.
Its strange, even with the tv or radio on,the atmosphere of the house has changed and its very quiet here without him.

Good luck next Monday Dave....as always, the thought of the op will turn out to be worse than the actual event.

So sorry to hear about your dad Rob, I'm sure it will indeed feel strange at the moment without him. Look after yourself, and just keep ploughing through all the practical stuff. It may be a chore, but in a strange way it can help you get through that period of adjustment when a loved one dies.

Dave, basically i've lived at home all my life, although i kind of semi-lived at home when i was with Kate.

The main consolation is that i was able to care for Dad at home, i don't think he would have been too keen on a nursing home.

It's lovely that you were able to do that for him, Rob. There's a symmetry to caring for an elderly parent in the later stages of their life - they looked after you when you were little, and you returned the favour. That's how it should be in an ideal world, and too often these days it just isn't.

I am glad that i was able to keep him cared for in his own home.
The 'sorting out' continues although i have basically come to the end of stage one and now have to apply for probate and get that sorted before entering stage two.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Alex probably knows more dirty jokes than the rest of us put together.

I'd forgotten how tiring it is looking after a small child. Since I've been minding my grandson for the majority of the week, I no longer have any trouble at all sleeping at night. I'm out like a light by around 11pm and don't even wake up once till the morning! Incredible, given my lifelong insomnia. I'm pretty sure this didn't even happen first time round when I was a new mum, but then I was a great deal younger I suppose.
