He's an old, conservative man, and can't live forever.

Let's hope a more modern Benedict XVII emerges sooner than later.

When they choose a black female pope then I might take an interest.But it does prove that God is anti femail,anti gay,anti sex,anti anything slightly interesting or progressive.
I was hoping they/god would pick a younger man so we /I wouldnt have to go through all this crap again for a long time,but this guys 78 and suffering from Parkinsons disease already.
Living in a Catholic country and being a total atheist doesnt help ,I suppose .

I see pope Ratty is also anti rock music -" A vehicle of anti religion". (whats new ?).
Anti Turkey (the country).
and anti Buddhism , which he calls (I love this) - "an auto-erotic spirituality",and "a Buddhist seeks transcendence without imposing concrete religious obligations".

What a guy.

Not that I do not trust you, but could you cite your source? If anything I am a buddhist, not a christian. It just seems so gross for a pope to say such things I can't really believe it.
