Stina Nordenstam - "Closer"

I realised I'll probably never fulfill my ambition to work on a song with Stina. So I went through her albums, picked out the parts where only her voice is audible, wrote down all the words I had, then tried to rearrange them to make some kind of sense and fit to a new melody I'd written.

The result is a hybrid between a new song and a remix. I'm sure you'll spot where most of the words came from...

That's an impressive bit of work, Nathan. Must have taken you ages. Actually, I couldn't spot where a lot of the words came from...
I recognised a lot of the trainline scenery! routes I've been on many times.

That was rather good Nathan. Actually,it was rather excellent,well done. I'm normally a bit cynical about these type of remixes etc but i certainly enjoyed that one. I can't get the thing out of my head now.
You certainly have a lot of patience to deconstruct and reconstruct the original recordings like that?

It would be nice if you received some feedback from Stina regarding it......it would be well deserved.

I have my doubts that Stina would like her voice being manipulated to "sing" something she never wrote, but my main motivation was to see if I could create a new song from all her acapella moments.

I think the most recogniseable samples are "at the warehouse" (Little Star) and "watch" from "He Watches Her From Behind". It took about 3 days of editing and writing lyrics from the small pool of words I had available.

My next project is to make a more Stina-esque track, I'm not sure how it'll turn out...
