Not that I do not trust you, but could you cite your source? If anything I am a buddhist, not a christian. It just seems so gross for a pope to say such things I can't really believe it.
Just google- ratzinger anti buddhism - and you'll get a long list of sites reporting what I've stated and more .He's said all this in interviews with the media.

And how about Spain ,a staunch Catholic country ,approving the rights of homosexuals to marry and adopt children. :O
I bet that will piss off pope Ratty ^

I've heard -- although not from a realiable source -- that he's instructed officials who happen to be Catholics to refuse to process gay marriages. If true, that's a worrying attack on secularism. After all, it's not like the church itself has to recognize the marriages.

Also, surveys are showing Spain is nowhere near as staunchly Catholic as it used to be.

A man at a McDonald's drive-thru had to be rescued in Clairemont Wednesday after getting his head stuck between his car and the building, according to authorities.

The accident happened at around 9:30 a.m. when the man apparently dropped his change and when he leaned over to grab it, became trapped. A Marine behind him in line was able to rescue him.

Two "Star Wars" fans were critically injured when they tried to replicate the light sabers used in the movie by filling glass fluorescent light tubes with fuel, police and a news report said Tuesday.

The pair, Mark Webb, 20, and an unidentified 17-year-old girl, were planning to make a video recording of a duel like those in the just-released blockbuster film "Star Wars: Episode III ? Revenge of the Sith," Britain's Press Association news agency said.

They were injured when one of the makeshift sabers exploded Sunday evening in the woods in Hemel Hempstead, north of London.

Liu Pinyi is a new kind of addict being treated in a Chinese military clinic here: she is hooked on the internet.

This week, the 19-year-old dropout from a telecommunications college voluntarily entered the clinic for 10 to 15 days residential treatment to get her off the net.

Addicts develop a chemical imbalance in the brain, stimulating production of a compound called 5-HT, which produces feelings of euphoria while online. When away from the screen, levels drop off and the addict suffers withdrawal symptoms including anxiety and headaches.

Brooke Shields has hit back at Tom Cruise for saying she's irresponsible to use antidepressants by offering him a child ticket to take Katie Holmes out to the theatre. Shields, who explores her postpartum depression in a new memoir, says fellow actor Tom Cruise has no right to condemn her for using antidepressants. Last week the War of the Worlds star expressed his Scientology-based condemnation of psychiatry saying it was "irresponsible" of Shields to say her medication helped cure her. Cruise added: "I care about Brooke Shields ... (but) you look at where has her career gone?"

Speaking to People mag, Brooke was polite: "Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens, and let women who are experiencing postpartum depression decide what treatment options are best for them." Contactmusic.com reports that Shields took a dig at the16-year age gap between Cruise, 42, and his new girlfriend Katie Holmes, 26, by offering him a child ticket so he can take her to see Chicago in London

"If he wants to see Chicago, I've left him two tickets - one adult, one child," she reportedly said.
