Emma Nordenstam new album.

At long long last Emma Nordenstam's third album, 'response to the birddream', is finally being released this Wednesday (20th March) in Sweden and on 9th April in the US.

This will be Emma's first English language album which will hopefully help sales worldwide. A preview song, 'Headlong' is already available on YouTube.

I have had demos for this album for over five years so I'm really looking forward to hearing the full recordings,although it seems that one of the four songs previously made available ( 'The Word Die' ) has not made the album (see next post)

Really? I really like the delicate melody and the way the hesitant vocals kind of dance around each other.

The album has arrived from Sweden and I'm giving it its first play now. Slight disappointment that with 'The Room',although recorded solo at home, Emma hasn't quite recaptured the melancholic feel of the demo. But the rest of the album is sounding pretty solid.........and its certainly nice to be able to understand what she's singing about now.

Her singing is not very beautiful on that song, it sounds out of tune in some parts. I did like her first album in Swedish though.

I think she has a pleasant plaintive style which suits her material.

I'm sorry to say that I don't like it either..
I heard some of her previous stuff on youtube a while back, but I just don't like her voice for some reason, it's too earnest or something...
And whatever double tracking she's doing on the vocals just sounds too home-made and out of sync/tune for me.
