The film is availlble to view on You Tube in nine parts. The 'Ilfracombe' section appears in part eight (see below) but it does contain spoilers so as a general warning to everybody, don't watch if you intend watching the film in the future.
Did anyone else get the seemingly unreasonably limited 25th anniversary blu ray of Paperhouse 2013? I bought my copy on release, but by the end of the year it was impossible to get, which was frustrating as I wanted to get my sister a copy as she also loves this film. It has a very good 30 minute interview with Bernard Rose in the special features where he talks about not only the film but about the two juvenile leads. I also managed to track down a 1960s print of the novel, Marianne Dreams, which is one of the two novels the film is based on.
Yes,I also obtained an imported copy (from France?) when it was released but I'm genuinely shocked that it was 12 years ago. Just as well I didn't wait for a UK release as I'd still be waiting. Well worth getting is a dvd of Escape Into Night,a 1972 British childrens tv series also based on Marianne Dreams.
