Stina setlists

Just a couple of setlists and gigs mentioned including the 'One For My Baby' performance for the opening of parliament with the King of Sweden, but the Mjödner one is new to me. Presumably with The Flippermen in attendance. And particularly interesting in that it includes 7 songs from MOAC, a month or so before the album was released.
I'd hazard a guess that Stina made recordings of 'The Miracle' and 'Why Don't We Do It Together' for MOAC which were shelved in the final cut, since she was singing them in gigs around that time.

Its funny,I often use the setlist site but never think to search for Stina's gigs,its usually always someone else. I wonder how long its been sitting there?

Anyway,interesting find,especially as it seems to have been a 'proper' Stina gig rather than the usual 'festival appearances',where she's restricted to a handful of songs.

Was 'The Miracle' connected to 'Common Miracle',the unused film song from a decade later? Its been a long while since I last played those songs and can't remember now if they were the same song or not. But I agree with your 'guess' ,'The Miracle' and 'Why Don't We Do It Together' probably would have been recorded for MOAC but left off.

There's quite a few more contemporary Stina gigs circa 1989-91, as we know - sadly we don't know the setlists.
'The Miracle' is nothing to do with 'Common Miracle'. It's about a girl in a former century who claimed to be able to fly. In the translation of Stina's between-song comments at the Fasching gig she mentions that Charlie Chaplin planned to make a film about the girl - but never did.

I think it's a great song,full of atmosphere, founded on a very simple bass riff of two repeated notes.

I don't come back here much but occasionally I like to drop in and have a laugh reading some of the old threads.

Thanks for the Common Miracle / Miracle explanation,I'm not even sure I ever knew about the Charlie Chaplin reference.

Its such a shame that we don't have any new work from Stina to chat about. I'm sure these boards would explode if there was. I'll always remain hopeful for another album but after virtually 22 years having passed since The World Is Saved was released, a new album release now looks very unlikely to happen.

Let's not forget, she's almost at pensionable age...

Unless Stina's living in a convent,I just find it amazing that she can lead a normal life and presumably do a normal job, and nobody notices or cares.No news,no photos, no nothing. Mind you,Kate Bush has managed to pull it off as well,do a complete disappearing trick, so perhaps its not too remarkable that Stina has effectively done the same.

I don't know but maybe it's a cultural thing and people who choose to drop out of public life are more respected for doing so in Sweden, and left alone.
I agree with you, RobB, it's practically impossible to disappear completely these days. Surveillance, in all its guises, is a huge part of modern life.

Maybe we could think of The Sundays who did the same, and we have very few info about them either.

I just remember the hundreds of artists and bands who were releasing records in the 70's and 80's and who just quietly disappear, almost unnoticed. Maybe they've gone on to get proper jobs,like Stina?
