I guess a lot of what I wanted to say has already been said elegantly by Elizabeth and Duncan, but I did want to post something on this thread.

It's sad to see our little community disintegrating after all we've been through. I've really loved the time I spent talking to Rob, Elizabeth, Duncan, Christian, etc over the past 3-4 years, but I have to say I took the whole CQD demise pretty personally. So much of our history together vanished in a second. Never mind the whole secrecy behind it, which is still kind of infuriating.

We sort of wandered here without a leader, and without a strong sense of direction. I never lost interest in this forum, but I find it harder to make the same amount of effort as I did before. I really wish this wasn't the case.

I have more to say, more feelings to explore about this....

Also - Ruth, glad to see you back! How is your poetry coming?

But of course. I grabbed it as soon as i could get me hands on it. i was especially syked that i didn't have to go down to the city or buy it online to get it! wow, you remember the poetry. It's still coming along. I've written a few songs, play guitar and recently got a drum set and a garage, so i guess i'm turning the poetry into music. It's still comin' along tho. i still can believe you remember [crazy]

Uh, nice joke Daniel. You can come back now and be proud of the fact that your little post has made the board more active than it's ever been... Seriously, I don't really understand what all the drama is about, but perhaps I missed something.

I don't know what else to say. I can only speak for myself - I never posted much to begin with, but I haven't been around as much lately mainly because... well, I don't know why. I still feel comfortable here and I still think about all of you often. I don't think this thread should signify the beginning of the end or anything. Let's just keep on doing our thing, okay? I guess it's apparent that most Desire Avenue patrons have a lot of life-stuff going on right now and maybe the board has been out-of-sight-out-of-mind a little bit. I know I've been guilty of it myself. But everything is cyclical, and the essence of Desire Avenue will come back around sooner or later. People leave and people come back and people get married and have babies... just like a family, which is what we are.

Since I'm here I'd like to give y'all a little update: About a month ago my boyfriend and I became first-time homeowners. It's something that I've wanted for years and I'm very happy about it. So far we're welcoming the extra responsibility (I realize that probably won't last!) and we're loving all the extra room and our cats are having the greatest time running all over the place. It was a terrifying process, but we are so glad we did it. I feel all grown up now. Well, okay, not really.

oh!! That's so great to see the CQD family almost complete here!!!
And even Ruth is back!!!
Of course many of us will remember your poetry, you were one of the first to participate in poetry topics on the Barbie Board!!
So good to see that people don't disappear for real and that we all come back sometime!! I'll try to be here quite regularly as well.
I don't think we need a leader, but many of us were vey busy I guess. It's all a group thing anyway, the more active many members are, the more people will post.
And the fact that there is no official stina news or broadcast is also, of course, a reason for less accurate visits...

With the board being hacked apparantly, there might be a whole new reason for this board dying

Where should we go if the webhosting company indeed shuts it down and can anybody with expertise help with setting up some good protection please [help]

It's great that the board's regained so much liveliness lately and i wouldn't wanna miss it .

I totally agree Harry.

This is the second time this board has been hacked. As I don't have any technical knowledge I simply can't do much to prevent this. Nor can Alex as he keeps an eye on the board and updates it regularly.

Let's just hope that no sucker will use this harmless board for hacking again.
