Breaking news in the Dutch newspapers:
Singer Kate Bush is working on her comeback. The double-album "Aerial" will be released, after twelve years silence, on the 7th of november. This was announced on wednesday by her recordcompany EMI Music. The album will feature the single "King of the mountain" which will be released on October 24. Both the single and the album have been produced by herself.

I only heard about this yesterday because I've been without tv/computer for the last couple of weeks, but it's been apparent for a few months now that the announcement was probably coming in the autumn so I'm not surprised. I had a quick trawl through the Kate Bush News and Information site last night, of course the place has gone nuts so there were far too many threads to deal with. It's quite funny to see how ridiculously over the top some of the reaction from those hardcore fans is, you'd think music had never been heard on earth before.pgss wrote:Singer Kate Bush is working on her comeback. Strangely, I'm finding it hard to care much now that the news is finally here. Maybe I've just outgrown Kate over the years of silence, maybe it's a sense of wariness after the poor show that was The Red Shoes. I hope for her sake this album is better, otherwise the ludicrously overhyped reputation she currently enjoys will evaporate in no time. I'm not that bothered either way, to be honest. I don't even know if I'll buy it, it doesn't sound very promising from initial reports. The album title is off-putting for a start, like she's trying to steal a bit of Bjork's eccentricity but without that artist's delightfully unselfconscious attitude. There's something heavy and clumsy about 'Aerial' as a title for a Kate album. Not too taken with 'King of the Mountain' either, I can just tell it's going to be a hymn of praise to her little boy.
A double album too, with one cd apparently a continuous piece. Well, she pulled that idea off with some style on 'The Ninth Wave', so it could be interesting. I'll reserve judgement until I've heard it.
