SO everybody in the Netherlands and close to here should come! This is part of a scandinavian festival taking place almost the whole month september and includes a lot more scandinavian music, movies and dance. Check out the website for more info:

the website seems to be only in dutch unfortunately, but the program is easy to understand...

I just came back from Anna Ternheim performing live here in Rotterdam. It was so wonderful, it's indescribable.. [crazy] but i'll try :
The setting was the central foyer of a small moviehouse. It was very warm inside and there were already a lot of people sitting and standing around waiting. Anna got in silently through the front door looking just like a normal girl, but i recognized her from the start. She waited a bit in the hallway and checked her cellphone.. Then she walked past me and i noticed noone knew it was her -so funny!
Then some other people accompanying her came in and they went to a sideroom next to stage. It took quite a while longer and the place filled up with more people as one of the movies had ended..
Then Anna came out and introduced herself. She sang with just her guitar or on the piano, and one song with some pre-recorded rhythm. Some of the songs were new to me, and some of those have to be from the Shoreline EP.. like China Girl and Little Lies.
In total there were like ten songs or so and she came back on stage at the end to give the french version of 'To be Gone' and another song.
And then you were able to buy her cd's and the t-shirt. The cd's were sold out pretty soon and i'd wanted to buy the Shoreline EP, but didn't have money for it (i'll have to get it some other time!) But i DID get my -already bought in Sweden last august- album signed by Anna and spoke a few words with her, which was really nice! [love]
Of course i forgot to ask if she ever met Stina, but i did mention the forum and told her i got to know about her through the forum -maybe she'll check it out now yea? xD



I also recorded some video and tried a picture, but i was quite dark and far away; the short movies i recorded with my cellphone are available on my website -for a short time- allthough i'm sorry for the audio quality; i never used it before and i guess i should have used a higher quality. but nevertheless if you like, you can check it out here:

I didn't see anyone else familiar; has anyone been there; and please tell me what you think... don't base anything on the awful sound quality though, i assure you it sounded awesome!

Hi!

I was there too at the gig in Rotterdam. It was so unbelievably hot in the venue. Yikes!
But I really enjoyed the music. I saw her also coming into the venue before her performance. She put her guitarcase on the left side of the hall but later moved it to the room right beside the stage. I found her look so (how do I explain it) like you and me. I had the idea from the photos that she was more adult looking. I was really surprised bout that.

I would've loved to hear 'Somebody's Outside' or A French Love', but the set she did was very fine. Yea, 2 new songs...

I was hoping for it , so I was happy that she brought merchandise with her. I already bought her album (2CD) in Sweden 2 months ago, but I was interested in her version of 'China Girl'. I bought 2 EP's. It was very annoying that 2 older men were there standing at the merchandise stand for 10 mins talking while there were still other people queueing up to buy some stuff. That was a bit annoying & actually not-done. They could've done teir bla bla after all the people had bought what they wanted.
(Anyway, sorry that I can get pissed by these sorta things).

I tried to make some photos during her perfrmance, but my camera is sorta broken so I think they failed (I still use camera with film so I don't know yet how they turned out).

P.S.: Did anyone listen to Radio Rijnmond? She did an interview and 2 songs there in the studio. The songs are on-line here: My Secret, Shoreline

And do you know maybe where that guy with the video camera is from? Dutch TV (Rijnmond?) or Swedish telly?

Great you were there too Ikke! how did you find out about this forum? I guess we should watch TV Rijnmond tonight to see if it's gonna be on there.. I should also try to get the songs i recorded with the DV camera onto my computer, cause like i said the audio with the videos recorded with phone is awful. If you wanna hear it though, you should just open the files with Realplayer and it should work (it's mpeg4). Yes, French Love is a great song and it's too bad she didn't play it, but maybe it works less good doing it acoustic..
It's a good thing you were able to get the 2cd version, i only have the one cd version. Some of the tracks i downloaded before i was able to get the album I liked more better in that version. So maybe those are the ones on the 2nd disc or are they the 'Gotland' versions? (or are those the same?)

You watched TV Rijmond today? I wasn't at home so I couldn't...

I think 'A French Love' might have sounded good solo cos it is also on the 2CD version of the album; her with a piano only. A very different version but oh so beautiful. Let's see what my 2CD is telling me about the 'Naked Versions'. (You didn't get it yesterday?).

Did watch a bit of TV rijnmond, but haven't seen anything so far..
I got the one cd version, cause i bought it last august in Sweden already
Let's hope Anna comes to visit us again soon sometime, otherwise i'll definitely go to a concert in sweden some time

Anna's album was sold out very quickly yesterday. Still it was possible you got yourself the 2CD version even though you are having the 1CD, but ok you didn't. Did you get any of her EPs? I bought the "Shoreline" EP and "My Secret" as well.
I found it weird that the guy with the videocamera was also recording the selling and signing of the CDs.

What I am wondering: Have you got friends in Sweden (cos you bought her CD over there or were you only on holidays)?
What more Swedish music do you like?

I guess i didn't get very lucky when they did hand out the 2nd disc to the album
I got to know about Anna through this forum, where many of us like her music. This was last spring. So with the album only on sale in Scandinavia i waited till my next visit there (always go there on vacation). Before that i had downloaded some of the tracks and listened to it very often how did you get to know about her?
This forum is dedicated to our favourite artist, Stina Nordenstam, who is swedish as well; and most of us have an interest in other 'northern' artists as well, so check out the threads and get to know some interesting music -i sure did!

I got to know Anna when I was at my Swedish friend in July. She played Anna's CD to me and I liked it so bought it the next day that we were in town. It was actually quite cheap (SEK 119). Her EPs I found very expensive yesterday.

I do know Stina. I am not a fan of her, but I own some of her CDs. I like her latest one "The world is saved" the most.
I also listen to Kent.

Anna has started her new tour and is traveling through some new European Countries; since she is working on a new album, she may also perform new material; so whoever goes to see her, let me know how it was. On 4/4 and 5/4 she's in the Netherlands!

so yea, i WAS going to see her in Rotterdam on 5/4 (she was also in Amsterdam the night before) but it turned out it was this whole mini singer/songwriter festival going on and you should have made reservations. I'm really sad now (where's that crying emoticon when you need it?)
