Being a borderline alcoholic, i like to drink... wow, that was an oxymoron. Anyway, rightnow I'm drinkin coffee at work with Desparado amarretto. It's so sweet i don't need sugar ("I know the robins bring, bring me many things..") I'm not even sure if it's Desparado, but it started with a D and the bottletop was square shaped

What's funny is i smoked cigarettes for a bout a year, while i worked at a horse ranch (Marlboro Reds, of course, the cowboy cigarrette) i was up to almost a pack every 2 days. Then i just stopped. I never got addicted physically or mentally. Isn't that kinda strange? I don't even miss it. They stink alot.

Contains a lot of minerals and tastes heavenly... especially the spicy blends with cinnamon and cardamom. Can you tell I'm a tea-fanatic?

- <b>Coke and other sodas.</b> I do enjoy them on occasion (like mixed with heavier stuff) but they screw with my oh so delicate tummy. Too much sugar too.
- <b>Black coffee ? la Scandinavian.</b> Coffee was never meant to be drunk <i>this</i> black. Urgh. You can see like oily caffeine spots floating on the surface. [:xx] Coffee is good with lots of milk and a little bit of sugar... that's how I've had it since I was 5. It <i>can</i> also be good black.. but like an expresso, not a fucking mug-full.

+ <b>Red Martini vermouth.</b> So spicy and tasty and sweet. It's best cold and straight up.
+ <b>Dubonnet red wine.</b> The easiest wine to drink in the whole world. I love the cat on the label.

+ <b>Fidel Castro's.</b> The best fucking drink in the whole world. Dark rhum (Bacardi, Havana Club or Negrita is to be preffered), ginger ale and lime juice. Saludos camaradas!!!
+ <b>Gl?gg.</b> Scandinavian mulled wine with almonds and raisins. A holiday favourite.
+ <b>Cava.</b> Props to Spain for the best fizzy. Cord?n Negro is better than any champagne in my opinion.

- <b>"Teenage drinks" with Vodka or Gin.</b> You know the kind. Find any liquid and pour your parent's booze into it. Not a good idea. I've completely lost my taste in screwdrivers.
- <b>Whiskey.</b> I simply can't understand the fascination with whiskey. Maybe I lack some special tastebuds or something.
- <b>Cognac.</b> It's like perfume - smells great, burns your tongue and throat to ingestion hell if you drink it.
There's more but these are the absolute favourites I come to think of right now.

+ <b>KIR!</b> Cr?me de Cassis + wine. Regular kir is with white wine. If you use red wine it's called a "Communist" instead. My absolute favourite is <i>Kir Royale</i> with champagne.

I've gotten really drunk maybe 2 or 3 times in my life. Grah! Hated it! My use of alcoholic beverages is stricly limited to the enjoyment of their magnificent taste. When you start getting drunk you don't really care what you're drinking and that takes away the whole point. I was raised in a house where a nice glass of wine or beer always was the perfect complement to dinner... no more, no less.

I tend to stay from the mass produced chemical crap and stick to my own home brewed wine.Blackberry,gorse flower and elderberry (if i can beat the blackbirds and thrushes to them) are others i brew.whatis wrote:

i'll really like to know how you brew flower-based wine! do you do dandelion as well? the only other elderflower based anything i've heard of are those swiss-branded non-sugar sweets, which already taste very nice...

I totally agree with what danny said. It's kinda immature to get so wasted you forget things and make a complete ass out of yourself. Plus it's really no fun for you or the people around you so why do it?
I don't get dead drunk either, and mostly because my stomach couldn't handle me drinking so much so fast so that i get more than tipsy. Yeah, i puke. I have a picky body, but it helps me be responsible. Also because the people i hang out with i worry about so there has to be one slightly sensible person.
I've sworn off any thing with vodka mix with coke or whatever. Unless it's the $70 bottle...
I like any kind of expensive liquor, more as a shot than a drink. I like to taste the full effect usually. Amaretto Desperado in coffee is awesome, once again.
I don't really like mixing liquor with normal drinks. I like either shots (tequila's great in moderation, 2 shots an hour is my limit!) or malt liquor. Not a beer girl. Right now i'm stuck on Smirnoff Watermelon..mmmm
