I bought Confessions on A Dancefloor today.

I bought Kate Bush's "Aerial" the same time to compensate.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!

So much of my music is doooown. It's great to have something upbeat and happy but still stylish and well... good without being all saccarine and yucky. There are a couple of songs here that I'm completely swooning over "Sorry", "Future Lovers", "Let it Will Be" and OMG "Jump"!!! I love that song. And "Future Lovers" is just this vocal psychedelic freakout with bleeps and squelches and no song stucture whatsoever. Madonna reminds me why I have this weird love for electronic pop.

But still, it wouldn't be a Madonna album without its fair amount of (obvious? embarassing?) flaws... on this one there are some lyrics that just make me cringe, like "I don't like cities but I like New York. Other places make me feel like a dork." Gaaawdawful. And on some other songs they are kind of... well, not the most exciting and challenging lyrics so to speak, but the music more than makes up for it. But strangely enough there are only 3 or so songs that make me cringe and skip them completely... there are ususally more.

So yeah, a flawed but wonderful electronic pop record.
Exactly what I need to cheer my winter up!

I just downloaded the album.

There are indeed a couple of obvious fillers - terrible fillers - like "Let it Will Be", the New York song or "Hung Up".

"Sorry" and "Get Together" are my current guilty pleasures.

If I'm going to get the album, I'll waiting until the special edition is released in December.

Well in "Sorry" she says "Iek ben droevik" (Ik ben droevig). Besides the pronunciation
is really bad and you wouldn't say it that way in common used dutch, she actually meant to say "I'm sorry" in dutch, but it actually means "I'm sad"

I rest my case.

As a concept she succeeded to make a nice all dance concept, and yes lyrically she has gone somewhat over the edge. I like it musically, but actually that isn't Madonna but Stuart Price (..)

I like track 9 through 12 the most. Especially "Push" but also "Jump" is doing a fine job there.

But I think Kate Bush's album is far more interesting!

I wouldn't think so. I've heard Zoot Woman and Les Rythmes Digitales and also his Thin White Duck stuff and it doesn't really sound like this. Madonna may have many musical flaws but nobody ever recognizes her as a producer which is a shame. Especially Ray of Light where everything was attributed to William Orbit.

Anyway, when it's good the credit goes to the co-producer and when it's bad it's all her it seems. Or?

open minded. and just into sheer fun. the new madonna is just nice to listen real loud. and as a concept it really works out very well.
so yeah maybe my personality is cyclothyme but on the other hand i enjoy a lot of music, including madonna. My only criterium really is goosebumps. and then in a postive way. hm do i make myself clear now ..

open minded. sheer fun....

and i personally like to dance alot. anything from skanking to bump n grind( i think the youngin's call it). So count anything that has a good beat as long as it's not toooo bad (i.e. jessica simpson etc)

and how can you disrespect Madonna? you could sooner disrespect Dolly Parton! (god forbid;))some people you just have to have that respect for, despite their genre.

Actually, I can stand the person Madonna.

I mainly like some of the new songs because of the Lu Cont sound, the vocals leave much to be desired!
