You know you have some....

everyone laughs at me when they find a burned copy of my favs from Destiny's Child's Writing on the Wall in my collection. But at least i didn't spend any money on it....

I have a couple of singles in my record collection that are total guilty pleasures...

Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For
Kylie Minogue - I Believe in You
Kylie Minogue - Come into my World
Kylie Minogue - In Your Eyes
Annie - Heartbeat (Not really a guilty pleasure but 100% pleasurable.)

Yeah... Kylie is my guilty pleasure.

But I don't agree that guilty pleasure are a result of bad taste. I actually think they are great, just that they're not the artists I would normally "respect".

I guess we all have such kinds of guilty pleasures. Mine are greek so there is no meaning posting the albums. hehe

out of the subject but "Guilty pleasure" is a song in "deus" album named "in a bar, under the sea". [i like them (only a bit [tup] )]

my guilty pleasure is(was) "radiohead" i don't listen them now [:xx] ...

oh I LOVE Annie. Especially ''The Greatest Hit" (from "Anniemal") where she samples (again..) "Everybody" by Madonna...

Radiohead shouldn't be a guilty pleasure!

Kylie has some good music, even if the lyrics are lacking. I could listen to her in a club allll night.

I think i should add my coutry cds too. Garth Brooks - in pieces and my Totally Country Vol. 2 cd....it even looks corny(like those annoying NOW #1,897 cds) , but some good songs are on it. If you like country.

To me guilty pleasures are artists you wouldn't openly admit to love or like becasue you don't want to be identified with the other jerks that like that kind of music.
Chances are i REALLY wouldn't get along with another Blink 182 fan...not that i like them...but my friend played their dude ranch cd and it was fun to rock to....

anything like Blink 182 and Green Day would remain secret *guilty* pleasures. yeah, i hate em both, but Green Day MORE.

i was thinking like it was something that's not very well respected among music enthusiast like us, but that we still enjoy listening too; a little bit of bad taste that's highly enjoyable for you to listen too.

like you really like to listen to Bon Jovi or Celine Dion and don't really like others to know that you do, cause it's embarrasing hehe

this is of course very subjective...

Good topic, Ruth.

I consider most of the music that i listened to in college a guilty pleasure now. Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Thrill Kill Kult, etc. Not that the stuff that I currently listen to is all that hip - once a dork, always a dork. Also, I grew up in the 80's and love many, many of the hits from that decade. Don't You (Forget About Me), One Night in Bangkok, Tainted Love, I Ran, that one that goes "I'm sorry but I'm just thinking of the right words to say, I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be..." Oh, this list goes on and on!

Which reminds me of one of my occasional guilty pleasures,Yes,although if I listen to them now it just makes me laugh-appaling lyrics,although the music is sometimes flying.I can still enjoy Led Zeppelin though.Having said that, if you scratch any musician you're likely to find a Zep fan..

My bassist Alex forced me to watch a DVD of Yes Sunday night. This song with 4 movements. He loved it so much, i couldn't help but appreciate it all with him. Then we watched Prince after. He so owes me CD time. Great respect for Yes, tho.
