tack on Goldfrapp's album Supernature on the end as well. It doesn't deserve to be on the list because it isn't even close to the brilliance of their first two albums, but it's still Goldfrapp...

2005 was such a great music year! There are still tons of album from last year I need to check out.

How did you get hold of "Vita"?

I must add Atomic, who are coming with a new album very soon. And Jon Balke.
Must be some other stuff, but I do not have a list at hand.

I'm not sure if I even listened to a 'new' CD in '05,not being particularly interested in the vagaries of fashion.

I'm interested in some music that was created over 500 years ago,other music that comes from tribal cultures and has nothing to do with the demands of the market,and meanwhile I've been trying to consolidate my favourite 'old' sounds in decent recordings.
I also listened to plenty of 'old' CDs and records that I've never heard before! I think the things I enjoyed most were by Xenakis,Miles Davis-some of the stuff mined from Columbia's vaults,and Morton Feldman.

Actually I DID hear Emiliana Torrini's album,and found it to be incredibly insipid, like being assailed by a heap of wet lettuce.She could use a few volts,IMHO,plus some more interesting chords,song structures,melody,texture etc.

Ah well,each to their own.I dread to think what you guys and gals would make of Xenakis,for example.

Ditto... I haven't listened to anything "new" in a long time...

Lately I've developed a clarinet fascination - so Benny Goodman has been in my most played for a few months.

During 2005, Spacemen 3's Perfect Prescription (as always), Susanna and the Magical Orchestra's List of Lights and Buoys (which was a 2004 release I think), umm.... lots of early Cure albums..

The World is Saved has been listened to, but it sometimes grates on me.

I like Xenakis.

At the Radio 3 awards, they counted the Konono No. 1 album as being from last year, so that'll be it. I heard some of the Kronos Quartet/Asha Bhosle album on the plane as well, and that sounded pretty good. And I've got the Twins OK DVD, mainly for the visual appeal. To, er, practice my Chinese with.

I almost know new CDs from website, friends(they know only pop songs in top10...) or DJ in club. and I rent (without permission lol) from DJ sample CDs or download somewhere. Maybe, I knew these two CDs from website made by a Japanese writter. and both of them downloaded. (He wrote sentences for Stina's TWIS, Nine Horses, mum, tape....) Thanks for your recomend. I'll try Atomic
