It would appear that Stina was remembering this July 1999 stay in London when she was writing the lyric for 'Parliament Square'.....unless the song was written at the time and is really that old.

I suppose you're right about the timeframe. I believe that this was indeed around the time that Stina was meeting several recordcompanies for the release of This Is Stina Nordenstam. I believe those songs were already written at that point. I mean, you don't start talking before finishing the backbone of the product.

Before, I read a dialogue(interview?) Stina and someone(camera man?) with using this site. I forgot the URL and someone's name. So, she said that when she was a child, she has been learned dancing, many instrument, violin in orchestra and choirs in church. now I can't find...

That's a good find,Noiser! Those are the main interviews with Stina,with the omission of the best one,on the back of a poster included with a PAS promo (which I have,but it's impossible to scan).They all used to be available on CQD.
I've translated the French ones,and I sent the Dagens Nyheter one to Daniel for translation a little while ago.Daniel??

we heard it for the first time in 2001, sitting in a sofa in london.

unfortunately, stina at first didn't feel like releasing the song, and it even ended up only at the last moment on the album.

which opens up an alternative universe where 'this is' is released with 'parliament square' replacing ... oh... let's say 'welcome to happiness'

Meanwhile I will always trust Stina's artistic inclinations; apart from anything else Parliament Square sounds like it's getting quite close to the line that Stina normally carefully avoids,namely the declaration of fact (as opposed to the 'fiction filter'-her phrase-that she deploys so beautifully) or the decalaration of a political stance.

only joking... I mock because I feel uncomfortable (Magnus rather than Stina). Still, does anyone else not find this conversation a little absurd? The original sentiments, and any sense of how they knew each other is lost..
