Tatu VS Sigur ros

Ok, knowing that many people here are fans of Sigur Ros and that others are not, I think i found a good way of bringing up some stupid and pointless action for an hour or two on the forum!

I have first a very shameful declaration to make.
Elforel bought a Tatu album. Ok, ok, it was not expensive and it's probably not genuine since bought in Russia. But can that be an excuse? Well, let it be.
But then, what's worst is that Elforel is coming out of the closet. Now you all think about my poor wife but don't worry, I am not gay yet.
BUT I do have to claim the truth: I have actually been listening to that Tatu album not only once, but even a lot of times.[music] [music]
And worse of all but i can not carry that burden secret any longer: I ENJOY THAT ALBUM! I dig it!
Ok, I guess now you will ban me from the stina board, change my password, delete all my posts...But I do say it loud today:
I love Stina and I like Tatu. Yes, it IS possible. [l)]
Ok, the Tatu girl probably write none of their music, but their producers are pretty efficient and the voices work for me.
Oh my god, how could I say such things.
Anyway, I am now going to dwell in the even deeper areas of self-destruction, I also bought the Sigur Ros album 'Takk'...[king]
Gosh, I enjoyed their first album on a few rare occasions, even if I never understood why they became so cult but now... What can I say?
This album seems empty and boring to me. I listened to it twice before posting here so I would give myself a second chance.
Sorry.
It IS boring. It is empty. And I declare that:
I prefer Tatu to Sigur Ros.
Now you can open fire.

PS: Before I die i wanted to tell you that when you will be reading this I will be belly-dancing on my office table all day long because I just learnt that BERLUSCOUILLONI finally LOST the elections and that is a wonderful day for me!!! Hurray! Let's party!!!

I've never heard anything special from Sigur Ros, but perhaps I wasn't paying attention. I can't remember if I eventually heard Tatu, but if so that obviously didn't leave much of an impression. I like Twins, and S.H.E., after a fashion.

At lunch, they were playing a song that blatantly steals from Mozart in the chorus. And has a string accompaniment that's nothing to do with the original. I think they must have stolen it from the ringtone. Quite bizarre. If anybody knows what I'm talking about you can tell the rest what to avoid ...

Berlusconi hasn't given up yet.

And Elfie, I check your greatestcities pictures every now and then. Some of them are superb!

well the songs i've heard from T.A.T.U. were great pop songs, allthough you indeed have to consider this is production work from top to bottom. Don't you remember their poor performance on the Eurovision song contest? they can't really sing.... but their songs are catchy ("not gonna get us") and they have a certain appeal to boys

As for Sigur Ros; i only know them from their latest album Takk and i really enjoy that album. It's not for every occasion and the sound is pretty loud at times, but i like the whole atmosphere; you'd have to watch the videos too, they're great!

And yes Berlusconi is going all the way to find a few more votes. I think this is gonna be just like the Florida recounts

but that was fun to watch on tv

Still I hope he loses of course.

About the elections in Italy, I won't react until I have the final results and I see a new government in action. I voted from abroad and NOT for Silvio.
At the moment I'm much more pissed about my hair, I finally went to to the hairdrasser after 4 months and after 10 days of sickness and they SCREWED UP my hair, I'm blond at the roots and red on the rest, I look SICK and the self-rewarding effect I needed never happened... And I saw Sigur Ros live, it was a very embracing, powerful concert, I don't think TATU could ever stand a chance without the studio work

But I did borrow a Sigur Ros album from the library sometime back.It had a hole in the cover rather than a proper title ,so I dunno which album it was....but any way after about ten minutes I wanted to scream from ennui and attack them all with lumps of broken pavement .It reminded me of The Enid(and if you've never heard them,be thankful),or Tangerine Dream with Demis Roussos after drinking a couple of pints of cough mixture.
Meanwhile Elfy,I don't think it's worth getting too excited about Italian politics.It'll all be up in the air again in no time.But anyway good riddance to the bastard.

Well, I basically agree with anything you guys said!
Tatu is just good catchy production and Sigur Ros might be very good...live.
I am not sure about "Takk" being sometimes very 'loud'...I will give it a third try.
Can you please tell me if the booklet of the album is interesting? Since i bought it here, it is a pirate and has only the cover and back cover with no pages...Am I missing much? I usually like the Sigur Ros artwork...
Dave, the album you heard might have been their first one if i am not mistaken..."Takk" is even worse I think, you should go and get it!

Elfy, trying to be strong, but having come back to work didn't do me any good. I was there only two weeks before getting ill and I was already exhausted. Milkpumping and working are hardly compatible, it made me feel emptied and I have to do it in the toilet for handicapped people

!! My flu is over so I must go back to the office, but I get pain in my stomach for the nerves. I'm even supposed to be fighting for yet another big promotion while at the moment I'm totally NOT there, still is now or never... [b)] I'm so sick of everything...
I know, nothing to do with the poll, I just had to tell someone...still, Iker liked Sigur Ros live too!!!

My girlfriend has 3 children ( 15,11 & 8 ) and when the first was born,she gave up her career in the civil service because she wanted to devote all her energies to the child.The children always came first.
Financially,times got tough,especially when her them husband lost his job which resulted in them losing their home.
15 years on,and the children are now at an age where my girlfriend can now ease herself back into employment by undertaking voluntary work and further education courses.
But the bottom line is that despite everythng,she never once regreted giving up work for her children.
Babies and families come first,work and money come second.
Being a Mum is a full time job in itself and being practical isn't always the best solution.
If your current situation is making you unwell and unhappy then only you can change that.Its a question of priority.
Hope things work out well for you soon.

Hmmm, Rob I don't know if I'm reading this with the right frame of mind... but I found the tone a bit offensive. Like being a stay at home mum is the only right thing to do.

I don't think there ever can be a right way or a wrong way in these situations.Its down to the individual. The point I was making was decisions and problems that seem so significant now will seem a lot less significant, with hindsight, in the future.
The impression I was getting from Sara was that she'd love to stay at home with her baby but for economic /practical reasons she's not in the position to be able to have a choice.
But you can't go through life being forever practical,sooner or later you have to go on gut instinct and throw caution to the wind.
If my girlfriend/wife was in Sara's position,I would have her out of that job so fast her feet wouldn't touch the ground.

If it meant living in a tent in the middle of a field then so be it.
Life is too short to be unhappy and if its effecting ones health too then its time to take a step back and re-evaluate whats really important.
