'Purple Rain'. Horrible, just horrible. I've heard a few covers of this song now (including one by my beloved redhead) and Prince's original wees on all of them, quite frankly. I'm not a fan of the little purple twerp at all, but that song was a moment of genius.

I adore this track! I think you have to approach it as a kind of sonic mood-piece rather than a song. It's truly chilling, like being dropped into the mind of a person about to commit some terrible, irrevocable act.

For me this is such a anomoly, pretty much the whole of this album sucks, I rarely ever play it.
