One of my favourite bands of the past year. Their new (second) album is out in August, and it's an album of covers - echoing Stina's own PAS.

Spook was/is(?) a big fan of Susanna.I must get around to a listen.
'Condition of the heart' is the beautiful ballad from what I consider Prince's best LP, 'Around the world in a day'.
'Love will tear us apart' is by,er, Joy Division,surely.
And 'Fotheringay'(?) is by the one and only late lamented Sandy Denny.

Sandy Denny, huh (?!?) (mental note to look up). I also recognise Hallelujah as the Leonard Cohen original of the song made famous by that Jeff Buckley kid.
The website has long clips of the songs from their first album - enough to give you a taster. It also included a couple of cover versions (Dolly Parton's Jolene).

their version of joy div's 'LWTUA' is certainly very inventive, deconstructing the music while keeping the vocal melody intact. probably the best cover version of the song i've heard.
i think it's a bit of a shame they've decided to turn into an avant-garde minimal hip cover project. while the first album's self-written compositions were certainly patchy in quality (it had 2 covers) they had a great song in 'believer'. i don't know if it was a lack of time (the fellah plays in thousands of other bands) or nerve, but i had hoped to see some new material on this. i can't imagine buying it, but i'll grab LWTUA on itunes.
