The great icelandic band is back for a show in Iceland !
And of course Bj?rk on vocals

And Einar Orn rapping.

That was the only thing I didn't like about the Sugarcubes. Will they do a worldtour? That would be an easy way to cash for the other members.

Have to say that I saw them live in 92 at the erstwhile Hummingbird in Brum and was underwhelmed.

Best things were the Tshirts and inflatable merchandise.

Worst was the icelandic support band, Ham who did a death metal version of Abba's 'voulez vous' I still have it on flexi disc somewhere.

I wonder will they stick to the sugarcubes material or will they include Bj?rk tracks?

Gerry - you are spot on - even more so live. Any good musical bits were overshadowed by on-stage tomfoolery, gooning and gurning.

Save the money and get the latest Astrid Williamson LP instead - that's cool.

Of course I prefer Bj?rk but when I hear The Sugarcubes I cannot imagine the song without him.

B52's are indeed genius. Just last saturday I danced on Love Shack

But the raps of Fred are not good either... I guess what makes it work is that B52's are a bit more catchy than the average Sugarcubes song. Some songs of the Sugarcubes are really spoiled because Einar is barking words on them. He sounds like a stupid dork although the lyrics are quite funny sometimes.

Well this thread now seems well and truly hijacked. The B52's are really good, I love everything they did up to and including Cosmic Thing. Plus I have fancied Kate Pierson for nearly 20 years now
