Mr. Yorke is there, predictably, but apart from his album the only others I'm at all interested in checking out are 'Ballad of the Broken Seas' and 'White Bread Black Beer.' Anyone heard either of those? I'm a bit afraid to try the former because of the Belle and Sebastian connection. I loved Green Gartside back in the 80s when I was a young 'un, so I'm more confident about his latest.

Oh, that Richard Hawley one - any thoughts on that? Q magazine gave away a free cd last month with various current artists covering 80s/90s songs, and his version of 'Some Candy Talking' is effing awesome. What a voice.

I just realised Lou Rhodes is the singer from Lamb. Might be worth checking that one out too, I loved the voice.
Just had a look at the reviews on Amazon and the Lamb fans don't like it musically, which is good news. Apparently it's folksy. Hmm. Might have to pick up a secondhand copy.

my partner likes the lou rhodes album alot, I'm not really into her voice so I won't comment!
I'm crossing my fingers for Hot Chip, their album is great, as is the Editors. Not sure why the likes of Muse and Thom Yorke are nominated, I've always felt that established successful artists don't really need the publicity and prize money...
There's chatter about them wanting to give Thom some sort of pat on the head because Radiohead have been nominated twice and not won either time. Not that he needs it.
