Nice idea,aermancer-and I really like your setlist actually! The idea of ending with 'Down Desire Ave' is great,pref with full string complement.I might add a couple of great singalong numbers-'Butterfly' is one I always sing along with the chorus,f'rinstance,or 'Circus'.
I suppose I could think up a setlist of my favourite Stina tunes-but it doesn't necessarily make a good giglist...I like the way you've (apparently) thought yours out to make a satisfying whole.
But I have to say a couple of things-one,I think some of those tracks are difficult to render live without recourse to recordings-eg 'Ask the Mountains' without Mr.Papathanissiou,'Come to me' without the Tivoli,etc.
More than that,I think what Stina says about live performance is spot-on.The usual Christians-to-Lions scenario (give'em what they want,like it is on the album) is something Stina considers 'insulting to her audience'-she'd far rather do something creative,something new.I think she would genuinely hate to do old songs.In this respect she always strikes as a true Artist rather than yer usual muso.
And I'd pay a lot of money to see her do that if it was possible for her.(I'd pay her NOT to do 'Little Star' to keep the great unwashed away from the gig
).
So instead I could visualise a scenario for Stina to do something creative live-a vast freezing Gothic Church,such as the vocals for 'Dynamite' were recorded in-with just Stina on inimitable electric guitar and Jonas Nystrom and the orchestra.
Or in a very intimate piazza,Stina with string quartet.
Or Stina on a floating harbour or ship with a really heavy bassist and drummer doing 'Dynamite'-type material.
Or with some kind of creative live electronics,improvising in real time.
Or in my music room,with me on piano
