The Science of Sleep

Has anyone seen this movie; it's directed by Michel Gondry, the director of the 'Little Star' music video and the wonderful "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. (one of my favourites, together with Amelie)

Yesterday I've watched the 'Mothman Prophecies', also a very good movie

The Mothman Prophecies is a great movie, I found it genuinely unsettling in parts and the premise is really interesting. Not something you can say about many mainstream films these days.

Haven't seen The Science of Sleep yet, but I loved Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Jim Carrey was surprisingly convincing in a very straight role, and of course the whole concept of the story is wonderfully inventive and imagined with great verve and humour and originality by Gondry. I thought Kate Winslet was somewhat miscast - I'd have liked to see someone a little older and more edgy in that role, someone like Patricia Arquette maybe.

The bit where Carrey tries to 'hide' Winslet in his childhood memory of being a toddler in the 60s kitchen with the glamorous babysitter is priceless.

I thought Kate Winslet was amazing in Eternal Sunshine and thoroughly deserved her oscar nomination.

Patricia Arquette funnily enough, appears in Michel Gondry's other feature film Human Nature, and she is rather amusing....

Eternal Sunshine is great. I love "The Science of Sleep" even though it was a bit consciously "arty." I actually saw it with my parents, who hated it so much they wanted their money back
