Poor Dave. :D [akiss]

I absolutely love my mini-disc systems. I love it as a format. I've never had a disc do anything like you've described, in fact I've had discs that have had stuff spilled on them that's gone through to the actual disc, been carried around in the mouths of curious cats, etc etc, and if you leave them a day or so to dry off they continue to play and record perfectly. Brilliant format.

Apparently (I hang around MD forums now,since mine started going wrong) the stopping recording thing is very common,and guess what? it's all down to a tiny spring which pushes the record/erase head onto the disc.Being tiny,it wears out El Quicko.But you can't repair it yourself,can you...
So beware@!
Yes I too love MD.Simplest way of recording off the computer for one thing.
My new HiMD can fit 45 hours of music on one MD.Which for an oldie like me,is crazy.What am I going to do with a 45 hour disc? :D
A concert I was in was broadcast on the radio the other day,so I recorded the relevant bits and now I'm wondering how I'm going to fill up the other 44 3/4 hours. :lol:

ahah, well I see you had much more problems with your MD than me then :shock:
and I'm sorry for that...


First I got one stolen (MD deck, not walkman) during a street theater festival (ok nothing to do with Sony), but to replace it, I found the same model in secondhand, but it appeared to be not reliable at all when playing others deck/walkman MD. The playback would just stammer, skip... nice for an electro remix though ! :P

The MD walkman I bought had problems during its guaranty (don't remember what is was exactly but serious enough - maybe the same problem as yours Dave) and I got it back after a while and still works *fingers crossed*

But I do love that format too, even more if you can directly plug into a computer.... but don't have the money to get a HiMD, unfortunately.
