I got it!!!!!!! I finally got it!!!!! Smiling And Waving!!!!!

Oh how I LOVE it!!!!!!

It's beautiful and so worth the 5 year search!!!!!!!!!

My favourites have to be The Gown, Spin The Context and That's All

It's a great album-magnificent arrangements and textures.'Her room' is another favourite of mine,as well as those ones you mentioned.Her first album is a bit predictable,but 'Balloon Mood' and 'Smiling' are masterpieces,whilst the last album 'Briefly shaking' is a bit overshadowed by the one really great,unforgettable song on it ('Last trick').Her lyrics are nowt special but she has a great ear,like her Pa.

By the way there's some very good videos of Anya on Youtube right now,including some live things.The video for 'Balloon Mood' is astonishing! but most of them are great-pity nobody except Stina herself has made any decent videos of her songs (I except 'To the sea').
(Thinks:I MUST go and see Angel A somewhere!)

I dread to think how long it will take me to find her other albums!!!! It took me long enough to find this one!!!!

I haven't found Smiling & Waving myself, but do have a few mp3's from that; from those i'd say it's the best i've heard from her, allthough i really like balloon mood as well. Briefly Shaking hasn't impressed me that much yet; maybe it'll grow on me...

I've had 'S&W' in my collection for several years now but have never really bought into it.

Its a bit like a Stina / Bjork album without the melody or the imagination.

I'd say the album has more in common with The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa and Hanne Hukkelberg than either bjork or stina...

Not being familiar with either ST or HH you are most likely right.

Have had S&W for some years now. Was quite fond of it, but agree with Rob.. it hardly gets out of my CDcase these days... i wanted to buy Briefly Shaking too (saw it lately by accident in my local recordshop!) but didnt care to buy it..isnt that terrible? I'm too low in cash at the moment..

I was actually listening to it this morning! I love it, the music arrangements are sublime and captivating. It's very much my sort of music (hehe along with Rammstein

)

Also reminds me a bit of the wonderfully brief and forgotten Ragga And The Jack Magic Orchestra, another one of my favourite albums ever...

I ddi actually play 'S&W' the other afternoon but it still doesn't do much for me. The playing and production are wonderful but the songs are tuneless and boring.
Despite the various phased production effects on the rather montone vocals and the occasional sudden clattering of percussion to help retain some interest,it was still snoozeville all the way for me i'm afraid.
I can remember the 'big mouth' song but thats about it.
