Fantastic news!!...and I have to say about time too.No slur on alx,kuhn etc who have been keeping the flame alight all this time,but Stina deserves a proper official site,not like the apology V2 have had over the past couple of years.
And it's great that they have the sense to offer it to our incredibly loyal and long-suffering fanbase.Good on you Kuhn and Daniel!!
As well as all the things everyone else has suggested (amazing how a bit of news can get everyone out of the woodwork-Hi Elfy! Hi Rob!! etc etc),I'd like to see a proper Stina archive again,as at CQD-as many interviews,pics,movies,soundfiles,rarities,cuttings as we can assemble,plus the CQD book,and so on.I'm prepared to offer some of my rarities for the purpose.
And musical transcriptions!! I can do those.
And I'll fight Elfy for the job of bog cleaner

Well, for now V2 needed a website pretty quick so I jolted together the material I already had from my (now defunct) fansite and sent it in for consideration. If it is your wish I shall certainly make a more "neutral" design for the next update... whenever that may be.

They haven't said yes or no to this one yet btw.

Personally I like websites that follow the current design of an album. Mirroring it... Maybe I just like adverts. I like the "wholeness". But I guess that part could be taken care of in the parts dealing with the albums themselves.

And yes, more "something". But a thing is that the website should still be informative so that someone who is only getting to know Stina can get some good objective info quick without being intimidated by all the "something". It's a balance I guess.

That's what Kuhn and I were thinking the "FAQ" section could be for. Assembling all the questions that may come up about Stina and her art and then answering them with the kind of material that you mention. We will certainly need the help of the dedicated fans sending in stuff to fill the website with. My instinct is that V2 only wants to promote the latest record (which is fair enough) so we shouldn't expect a whole lot of back-info from that direction. But yeah, that's more Kuhn's side of the deal.

I tend to feel otherwise-I think sites tied to albums are somehow blatantly commercial.I'd have thought 'wholeness' should be a reflection of the entire persona and history of Stina.
For instance something I never liked about the Barbie board was that it was only tied in to 'This Is' and had no soundfiles from and hardly any reference to her other albums/activities.(The first time I came upon it I thought it must be a site for some other Stina Nordenstam who was a circus performer rather than the poet of sadness I'd come to love ).

Having said that,I like what you've done so far,Daniel! I like thoroughness...!

And I know what you mean. I like websites that follow the theme of the album but of course it needs to be changed/updated when another album comes out. That just goes without saying.

Not updating the design would be just... lazy.

Aw, I'd love to see more riddles. Creates a sense of mystery, and lots of debate.

Also, if you are the official V2 webmasters, it will be inevitable that you get advance information on upcoming releases/events/whatever - and asked not to make it public just yet. You then have 2 options - 1) keep quiet (and have everyone realise that you held info back when it is eventually made public), or 2) drop occasional cryptic hints like V used to (which I think keeps the community more engaged)

Just my feelings on it..

Stina Nordenstam. She is a singer in Sweden. Her unique voice and vocalization that it is invoked Bjork and Rickey well, The eccentric sound sense that swallowed electronica from a fork, And the lyrics which full of imagination and poetic. She showed talent of the one and only. She debut by Memories Of A Color which had a fragrance of jazz in 1991. She changed direction in a previous work on the basis of it again afterwards in the song center while considerably challenging the sound that was avant-garde. ?The World Is Saved? is 6th album. This work is written as "at last, first Japanese Edition for her" partly of writters. However, actually it is only ?This Is Stina Nordenstam?work that is not introduced in Japan.

She does not seem to like explaining it by words and she does neither live performance nor an interview; and of course have not visited Japan either. In other words it's Stina of the mark existence that a person to know knows in Japan. You should have more many people hear her beautiful songs. She said the interview over a telephone at first don't want to do. I told that there was it, and z series looked commonly. I was relieved.

This is a new work for the first time in three years, what kind of image did you make it with?

-Stina
There is no concrete ideas. While I can always go so ahead, I harden in depths psychology. I do not make it for some intention during recording.I just make it. I assign a focus to a feeling of a point in time when I wrote the music and make it basically. Even if I made a work how many, I do new discovery in the degree. I always finish the work when I think that is complete. However, I do not understand whether this is a really splendid work afterworks. But, I think that I make a work to be able to be proud of.

You appointed Tchad Blake as mixture once again. I think that it is good that he expresses a delicate sound. Is work with him easy to do it?

-Stina
Yes. He is wonderful for a human being for works. I think that I worked twice together when it is only him. I always work with a different person basically. different persons, different studios, different countries...I always need different things. But, Tchad is special. I was going to completely make this album alone at first. But, I felt that help of the other people who upset something was necessary. When I listend to tracks mixed by Tchad, I am shocked. Because, he changed it into my hoped. but, it was completely overturned from original form, I was shocked again(laughing). The work continued for about 2 weeks. I was considerably hard(laughing).

As for this album, I feel that you sing the world becoming worse. But, I never felt despair from these songs. Do you think that there is the saving in this world still more?

-Stina
I don't know there is any saving. But, at least there is hope. And, Getting hopes make pains are reduced. It is important to accept a pain by a restored process. We must not forget hopes.

-Interviewer
What kind of music brought up your world feeling and sense?

-Stina
I think that I have already had it from childhood. Making something, upsetting something and changing something... There was already those kind of originality from a child. Musically...well, originally my voice is such a thing too. I heard my voice well only after I made the first album. I belonged to a chorus till then, but the consciousness did not last for my voice. My music is formed by my voice.

What is a thing becoming a driving force of your music expression?

-Stina
I always have a strong desire for creative...It is difficult to explain...The thing which is necessary for me. There are no anymore reasons.

You do not do a live performance. why?

-Stina
There are some reasons. At first, I think that it is wrong to reproduce the thing which cut a record as a CD on live performance. In the first place live performance and a studio album are things of totally another dimension. I think singers doing live performance that is near to an entertainer or an actor. Most of singers like to do live performance, but I am not interested in live performance.

-Interviewer
You are always compared with Bjork. Bjork becomes the driving force that scientific research feeling makes music. however, you do not have that kind of thing at all. I think you are instinctive. How about a fact?

-Stina
You're right. well, I think that Bjork is a human being of a diplomatic type. It would become a pillar of artistry for her to deepen interchange with a lot of people. And she seems to like live performance, too. She and I are human beings of a totally different type. I like one opposite to oneself. I don't have the desire that to want to send it to to the world than Bjork.

-Interviewer
You collaborated with Brett before. why?

-Stina
His voice is unique. I wanted voice like him. Thus I asked it to participate in him. I was uneasy because he is so famous singer. But, He is very nice. I did recording with a good mood. He is the person who can change singing to music.

This will be hard to realise... For download or purchase you need permission of the owner of the works. In Stina's case that would be Warner Music and Independiente. I'm not confident that they'll co?perate in this.

It would be difficult to have this forum being part of an official website then, since we like to share Stina rarities and videos here. A good thing to consider...
