Tracks such as "And She Closed Her Eyes" and "Clothe Yourself For The Wind" have always been popular so how about an entire album which features just Stina alone?
Would that work?
In that recent ETC interview,Stina commented on the costs involved in recording the new album and how bank loans had to be applied for.
But with Stina working entirely alone,playing,producing and recording at home ( which she has occasionally done in the past anyway ) then it would certainly keep the costs low and the profits up.
But after the various "band" / "string" arrangements of previous albums,could you listen through an entire album of just Stina & guitar or Stina at the piano?
I'm willing to listen to anything she puts out and give it fair chance. Although I must say I'm a bigger fan of grander arrangements. Nothing can beat a nicely executed brass and woodwind section.
One thing I don't want for sure is a "Medulla" like record made by Stina.
In fact I enjoy more Stina when she melt her various talents and not only her voice.

back in the days of yore when cqd did stuff [crazy] there was an oppurtunity to put questions to stina - my question (which got answered!) was whether she'd be interested in doing a solo record, to which she replied in the negative.
it's a bit of a shame as i think she could pull it off, though i couldn't imagine a medulla type effort. in fact i don't think i could get through 40 mins of just stina's voice, sorry!
Producing dance music can be done on a laptop as Bj?rk has proved with Vespeterine (although... the beats where not for the dancefloor). I would like Stina to explore a more electronic sound.
Let's face it... The last album was a bit of a routine. No big surprises. I want her to suprise me like she did with Dynamite or with This Is.
hmm, i kinda liked the mix she did on the last album, where you have the more 'simpler' compostions with few instruments, like "the world is saved" and the compositions full of sounds and melodies, like "butterfly".
I don't think an a-capella album would be a good choice in getting more records sold, cause it would be only for fans and not even all of us would probably enjoy it. I also don't think it should be completely without instruments, cause it's the strenght of her music, to create compositions made up of different instruments and sounds combined with her voice.
I would like to see a bit more electronic experimenting like People are Strange. It's one of my favourites.
I'm not too fussy what she does as long as it is dark, murk and sends shivers down my spine [xmas]
I really like The Photographer's Wife sound and would love an album along those lines, collaberations with Boards Of Canada, Plaid, LFO, FC Kahuna, Fluke, UNKLE would be rather cool and very interesting.
But then so would an album recorded with The Kronos Quartet maybe along the lines of Kristin Hersh's Strings project!

This project by Kristin still sends shivers down my spine, totally agree Lacuna! It's probably one of the best things i've heard in my whole life- maybe because i listened to it, pretty young i guess...
