Elbow

Probably one of my favourate British bands of recent years are Elbow.

Their Seldom Seen Kid album is probably in my top 5 in the last 10 years.

Here's a live recording of their excellent song, Some Riot, which they recorded at Abbey Road with orchestra.
(I prefer the studio version but at least with this version there's footage to watch.)

The Seldom Kid is indeed a great album. Although all albums of Elbow are quite good. Have you ever seen them play live Rob? I haven't but I surely want to.

No, I havn't Paul. I'm really pretty hopeless when it comes to making the effort to see artists live. I'll be seeing Chris Difford locally in April but my last gig was Paul McCartney in December 2009.

I tend to have little spells where i see several artists in quick succession followed by long gaps.

Elbow are one of those bands I keep meaning to check out more seriously, mainly because I occasionally listen to Guy Garvey's BBC 6 show and he seems a really lovely, intelligent and amusing bloke. I remember I liked the first album, but I haven't heard anything since.
