Dynamite Video

I've just got hold of the Dynamite/This Time, John video! I'm chuffed to bits.

It came up on eBay-the only time I've ever seen it advertised. I think I was incredibly lucky and spotted it very soon after it was put up-and it had a Buy-It-Now option, so I didn't hesitate. Sorry to everyone else who might have bid on it....

It's great seeing both videos (directed by Stina, of course) in high quality, without the MTV moniker, which is the only way I've ever seen them before. Plus the Dynamite 'Director's Cut' adds about half-a minute of footage (and Stina voiceover) to the front of the YouTube MTV version.

Anyway, I've done some HQ scans of the cover/tape, and I will try and get a good rip of the videos and put it all online. I'll put a link up for our loyal members, in the usual place. Just not sure if my video converter will work in the new Mac OS...

One thing that's interesting is that the cover has a few reviews of the 'Dynamite' album attached, and they make interesting reading. Everything they say is right, and yet Stina has lapsed into obscurity. Such a shame.

Great find Dave,especially after all these years. I no longer have a vcr to have played it on so i'm not sure i would have gone for it even if i had seen it.

To be honest, RobB, I'm going to hang on to my VCR for as long as possible. Apart from the minor inconvenience of rewinding/searching, and the fact that VCRs take up much more shelf-room, I don't find the quality to be so much worse than DVD, often better, and I don't see why I should pander to the commercial norm of rebuying things I own already in the old format. What's more, as I'm sure you're aware working in a charity shop, you can pick up old videos for peanuts now.
All a bit like the old LP vs. CD arguments. I still use every format going. Yesterday I was listening to a pile of 78s!...but I did recently consign my (c. two thousand!) cassettes to the attic. they served me well for many years.

The only reason why i havn't got a vcr is because my last one finally packed up and i couldn't be bothered paying to have it fixed. So i gave it the heave ho.

I've still kept my 'rare' videos though although most have been burnt to dvd-r so i'm still able to watch them.

Any chance you can convert both videos digitally and put them on vimeo or youtube? love to see the clean cut non edited non MTV versions..

Great find! I have this (I was also lucky and saw it listed about seven years ago), but my VHS does not have the best image quality. How is yours?

I don't have a VHS player anymore, otherwise I would love to share it.
